We did'nt use the entertainment facilities so cannot comment on those. The site itself was 1st Class, each pitch segregated by bushes, excellent sized pitches. We were on a hard standing right by the side of a small lake/large pond with loads of ducks. Toilets were clean, light and spacious, 2 blocks on site. Best dog walk we have ever seen, walk goes around the perimeter of the site, full marks for this. Staff in reception and shop were very pleasant, helpful and everyone one of them, smiled.What a welcome change! The beach cannot be accessed via the site although if you stroll up the lane by the sea , it can be accessed a lot further up. It is very sad to see the cliffs, road and pathways eroding along this part of the coast, take care, especially walking along the edges, they are liable to subside. Still spent a very pleasant few days on this site, lovely and peceful in the week, we arrived on a Monday and it was so quiet. Soon filled up at weekend though. Multitude of rabbits running around the site. Shop on site sells literally everything at reasonable prices too for a site shop.
Just returned for the first time since the takeover by Park resorts.
They are slowly moving over to the 'All sites will be ran the same' image ,which takes away the individuality of the site. Upon arrival we received the standard information pack, as per Park resorts, advertising their range of static caravans.The first change we noticed was the removal of the double bikes that kids love at holiday sites, apparently this is a company policy.
The pitch sizes haven't changed 'yet', they are still the best pitch sizes I have come across and have maintained the hedges.
Swimming is now inclusive of the price of the pitch. The downside of this is there are now only a few hours a day on some days where the kids can use the pool. On most days there is a £5 per person charge after 4pm under the guise of , surf rescue sessions.
The bar areas are the same but the kids activity room was being converted into a costa coffee lounge, how very corporate. Although the larger is £2.45 a pint they claw the profits back in other drinks like J2O fruit juice at £1.95 a bottle and Magners at £4.07 a bottle, no that's not a misprint.
You must now produce your passes to enter the complex area, which is not a bad thing, except one evening on our way off site I happened to walk over to the window of the bar to see what entertainment was on , and was met halfway by the rudest security person I have ever encountered. He asked for my pass , even though I was nowhere near the door, and told me in no uncertain terms to go away if I didn't have a pass. This was a regular happening, we found out after speaking to other guests.
All in all I will come back again this season but from what I can gather from some staff and residents , next season will herald the full Park resorts makeover
This was our first camping trip so wasnt sure what to expect the kids were really looking forward to it and we werent disappointed, check in was straight forward and the tourer section was separate from the static with a key operate gate, all pitches were separated by small hedges between them which was nice and our pitch backed on to the play ground which was great for the kids.
Pitch included electric at no extra cost, the toilet block was also key operated and was ok, showers not the greatest but adequate only three cubicles but never full, said on the park resort site that there were electric points in the loos but no sign in the ladies.
There was some disturbance on the Friday eve about 11pm some drunk teenagers decided to mess about round the play ground, complained the next day and said there had been a few complaints and would have extra security on the following night, never heard any noise the following night.
The only complaint was that we booked through park resorts and were told that would have to vacate our pitch by 10am on the Sunday, which I thought was far too early so we booked for an extra night which was another £18.00 when we were departing my husband was advised that he could have booked a late checkout at the reception for £3.00 (too late now) told us next time to ring the site direct and book through them and would accommodate any special requests.
Well we didnt know what to expect after the take over last year of the site but it hasnt changed at all from 2 years ago apart from the ever advancing sea erosion. The pitches are quite large for a commercial site in fact some really are huge. Most have their own water tap. The showers toilets etc were very clean but the site was only 1/5th full so id say it could get quite busy for showers. Good play area and good onsite facilities which we were told are getting a revamp this year. Got a cheap deal for the weekend off their website. One point there is a dog walk which we used but were saddened to see not all owners clean up after their dogs, to the point where we offered a bag for an owner to clean up after their dog but were point blankly refused.Which is really maddening. We would go again but maybe not when it is packed
Stayed here Bank holiday weekend and all I can say is what a great site. We weren't disappointed pitches were great, 12m x 10m, and perfectly level. The shower rooms were small but well kept and plenty of hot water. The bars complex were also great with very good prices and friendly staff. There was plenty for the kids to do and the pool within the leisure center was really good, 80p for kids. All in all we had a really good 4 days and would definitely return.
Have just spent a fantastic week here. The pitches were large with your own tap and seperated by hedges. Although there were only 4 toilets per shower block, there were plenty of shower blocks so they were never busy. They were lovely and clean and the shower and hair dryer were free. We had a lovely pitch by the duck pond. There was plenty for the kids (4) to do, from the adventure play ground, amusements and brill indoor swimming pool. For the adults, indoor fitness centre, sauna and steam room and plenty of bars catering for adults only and family rooms with lots of entertainment laid on for the kids. All this and the lovely weather made for a very enjoyable stay. Will definitely have to go again.
Stayed at this site for a week it was great kids loved all the entertainment that was on. Pitches were very big. Toilet blocks very clean. Will be going back again next year. Even had security walking round. The childrens play areas were clean
We visited my parents who were staying on this site over the MayDay holiday in their caravan.
The pitch they had was really nice. Plenty big enough for van and awning and usual deckchairs, bbq etc It had its own water pipe and it was sectioned off from its neighbours by small bushes either side.
The site was VERY VERY BUSY! Caravans and the like everywhere you looked.
It is a really clean site and the toilets and showers looked fresh.(you get a card for entry) It had a nice pool, but it was a little overfull and a small bowling alley, pub, supermarket and the usual commercial site stuff. The Play Area was nice, wooden framed equipment and clean.
If you're a fan of these large sites (we prefere smaller ones) then you will really like it.
The only thing to spoil it was older kids left to roam and terrorise younger ones on the Playarea, even with us being there! And the price £22 for van and 2 adults, for us 4 kids and 2 adults it would come to about £30, a bit steep for ANY site!
This is the most expensive site we have ever been to, and sadly we were disappointed. A door lock fell off one of only 4 toilets, the taps leaked, the water went off, and at other times was filthy. The electrics also went off.The bins were full, and rubbish sacks were left. It was full of kids trying to be intimidating as possible, who just gave a mouthful if you asked them to move in the playground. Security was nil, and I agree with someone else's post, the staff didn't care, and were the most miserable bunch I have ever met.They made it clear they hated their jobs.
Please beware if you've got lurchers, the site has rabbit warrens everywhere, with some very brave bunnies.
On a positive note it is next to the beach, but the steps to get on are very steep. The pitches were nice, and each had their own tap.
