 This was our first camping trip and we found Thorpe Hall an excellent site. The site itself is 4 miles outside Bridlington with a Morrisons supermarket just down the road. The site itself was very well maintained and the showers and toilets were very clean. There is a shop on the site that sells daily newspapers and everyday essentials, the manageress of the site is extremely helpful and friendly.
If you have children they are not allowed to play ball games around the camping / caravan site but there is a large field that is designated for ball games etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our first camping experience at this site and would highly recommend this site and after speaking to fellow campers early booking is advised as it is classed as an excellent site.

This campsite is fantastic, Jayne the manager is great, you can even order your morning papers if you wish. The grounds are clean and well kept. The tent field consists of large plots for each tent around the outside of the field, giving plenty of room for the children to play (no ball games of course). There is a games field next door to the tent field which is great for kite flying, football, cricket, and it is big enough for lots pf people at any one time.
The shower blocks are warm and clean and there is a games room with table tennis and a television in it as well as a few other bits. We have been there 3 times now and are considering going back again at the end of the month. It is only a few miles from Bridlington, and there are a couple of nice walks in Rudston too. If you want a nice quiet site (well not always quiet but from what I can establish it is often quieter in the tent field) I would strongly recommend giving Thorpe Hall a go.

Our first visit to this site and it was first class; although it was late in the season and the ground was very soft we had a fantastic 3 days. The shower and toilet facilities were first class although I would imagine a few more showers would be welcome in the height of summer. We cant Wait for the site to reopen in March as we will be going back. While I'm writing this revue a brief word about the fishing on this sight there are two lakes one small one large fished the small one on this visit and it is a bit of a trek if you are walking as I was but worth it within 45 mins I had landed the first carp of the day a PB of 16lbs closely followed by another one of 10lbs although these are not big fish by angling standards for 5 hours of pleasure fishing for £3 very worth while. The bailiff says the fish in the large lake are even bigger but as the water is gin clear very hard to catch will see next time I go

Visited twice this summer. Good family site with all visitors well behaved during our visits. Well run with good modern facilities. Nice relaxed atmosphere without being oppressive with endless rules. Nice site to take the dog with good exercise facilities. Will return next season.

We stayed here for Bank Holiday Weekend and surprisingly it wasn't over packed. The site itself is lovely and quiet and very well sheltered with the wall going round. The toilets I felt let the site down. They are adequate but could do with a few more showers and need generally updating. The good thing about this site is there is no bar, which is a bonus. Would stay again.

This was our first camping experience and we don't think we could have selected a better site. The pitches are marked out and have ample space between them. The showers and loos are spotless with loo roll and shower/shampoo provided. Each block has a hairdryer.There is a small play area for kids with slide swings and sandpit and also a huge field for ball games. There is also a games room with table tennis,football and pool tables and there is also a TV room.If you like fishing there is also a fishing lake on site but not visable from the tent field.The shop is quaint and supplies everything you would need. The campsite is a pleasure to visit . It's an easy walk into Rudston to the pub which is very good with beer garden and its a short drive into Bridlington - watch out for the huge Garden Centre on your left on the way into Bridlington

My wife and I went here for whit week after reading the reviews here. I have to agree, a great, peaceful, clean, well looked after site. No bar or club of course, this adds to the attraction!
Our dogs loved it too, the dog walk area was a nice stroll amongst the trees. Staff and visitors all very friendly. Fishing was good, some nice carp to double figures. We will definitely be going back.

Just back from this site and can highly recommend it. It is a bit of a schlep from Bridlington but worth it for the peace and quiet. In the unlikely event of needing public transport the service from Rudston village is fine - as long as you need it on a Wednesday!
The facilities were fine though limited and the manageress, Jayne is great. As a moanie ol' git I think campsites in this country are generally overpriced. This one was £17 a night for 2 of us in a small tent with hook-up. If we allow it I reckon camping (the proper way - in a tent) is going to become a pricy business. However on this site, when we were stayed, there was a 20% discount for stays of 3 nights or more from (I think) Sunday to Thursday. This even managed to please me - no small feat.

Probably the cleanest and best maintained site I've ever pitched on. set in beautiful countryside with several nice walks which all arrive at the pub or the church (which is near the pub)(I highly reccomend the pub too).
The area has such an abundance of wildlife & habitat that you would think it was Bill oddies garden.
An excellant site & I'll give it 5 stars *****

We've stayed here a couple of times in our trailer tent and really enjoyed it.
The site is safe, relaxed and peaceful, the toilet blocks are nice and clean, the manageress is helpful and friendly and you get plenty of space. Hot water in the toilet block and dishwashing area was hot, free and usually plentiful. There's a small shop on site, with limited opening hours but all the things you need.
The main area is in a larged walled garden, with a smaller paddock and a late arrivals field. There are free TV hookups to all the pitches in the main area. I think all the pitches were grass and some of them are on quite a slope.
There's a small childrens play area with a sandpit and climbing frame, plus a large field for ball games and a fishing lake close by (although I don't fish so can't comment on that).
The split of caravans to tents was about 70/30 when we visited.
All in all, we'll stay here again in the new caravan pretty soon.

Just come back from this site, Jayne the site manager is very friendly. Toilets and showers very clean, nice small site, only fault that you can not get a mobile phone signal if you are on orange it is a way out of Bridlington but there is plenty of places to visit.
The fishing on site is not bad, there is a lot of mirror carp and common carp.
Only small yet overall a good site nice and quiet.

I'd like to start of by saying thank's to Jayne, the site manager who was full of advice and made my partner and I feel very welcome.
The site benefits from being quite small with just under 100 pitches although there is adequate space for both caravans and large tents.
The onsite facilities include a shower and toilet block with free hot water which was very clean and warm, a seperate family bathroom, good for the less mobile camper and small children, a laundry room and an outdoor covered pot-wash area. There is also a games room with Pool and table tennis and a tv for the soap addicts amongst us. The games room is situated between the Caravan field and the Tent field, a games field for kite flying, footy, cricket etc is just down the entrance road.
The Caravan field is enclosed by the walls of what used to be the Thorpe Hall vegetable garden and feels secluded, it also houses the reception come shop, a delightful building resmbling an olde world cottage. The shop is well stocked with essentials and the odd treat, (I recommend the farm made Ginger cake). Next to the shop is a garden area with a fountain surrounded by tables and chairs, pity it rained most of the time we were there. There is also a post box and an old red telephone box.
The tent field marked, late arrivals, walled and fenced on one side, tree lined on a second and open aspect across fields to the Gypsy Race and low hills to the south. The dawn chorus was awsome and set us up for our walk into the village churchyard to welcome the sunrise on the summer solstice at the Monolith.
A beautiful though wet weekend enhanced by the tranquillity of a very nice campsite.

We camped for two nights over the Easter holidays and enjoyed our stay. The two boys liked the sand pit and ponds. The facilities were great, especially the family wash room (it is also the disabled area). Jayne the site manager was very helpful and directed us to a play area in the village. We tried one of the local walks and took a picnic. We would visit again.

Just got back from spending the Easter weekend at this site. We had a fantastic time. The site was busy, but coped well. The facilities - toilets, showers, pot washing, laundry etc were clean and tidy. Showers (free) were lovely and warm, and controllable (with none of this push button business!).
Pub in the village down the road (Bosville Arms), easily walkable in 10 minutes or so along the path by the side of the road. Bridlington a few miles down the road.
A great base for exploring the surrounding area. We'd definitely go back.

This was a very quiet but very clean site. There was free showers and the water was hot it was lovely. The shower and toilet block was heated which was great for getting the kids ready for bed in as we were in a tent. The childrens play area is basic but the kids loved it. There is a small shop that stocks just the right stuff for your stay and was quite good value for money. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly there so did the dog. Definitely will be going back there in the future even though it is quite a way out of Bridlington.
