This site has the most fantastic views, the beach is lovely, but can only be reached by a very steep climb or an easier but long route round.
I had booked this site three months earlier and was not happy on arriving to find that there was not a space reserverd. We were given pitch on the side of a hill which was not really suitable for a caravan as we had to pitch with one side on several blocks but it was this or nothing.
There were two areas for camping, as has been said, the one with the best views is on a steep hill.
The toilet and shower block is basic. There is a shop selling most things which is open long hours.
The area is lovely and for anyone having trouble getting down to the beach try the nearby Oxwich bay, here you can park right next to the beach if you arrive early enough.

Apart from the excellent views and lovely beach I would not recommend this campsite for a relaxing holiday ( unless you have a caravan) most of the field is on a steep slope and only the lucky few get to camp on the edge, I was one of those, however , upon returning from town I found a new arrival putting up his frame tent in the space I was told to put my car, this left a gap of three feet between us, the warden was called and was most rude to me, only my insistance got the tent removed.
This also happened to others on at least three occasions during my stay, also I don,t pay £13 a night and pay for showers and hot water this is sheer money grabbing

Stayed for a week in our basic caravan. Very helpful warens and owners. Great views, very clean facilities. site crowded at weekend, some campers noisy past 11pm, much more peaceful mid-week. Beach all you could wish for. Very windy, but what do you expect perched on top of a high cliff?
Couple of negative points: very small shower space and tokens (30p) needed for showers which were not always as hot as they could have been. Unable to buy more than 5 tokens at a time. Shop poorly stocked.

We arrived at 11am on a saturday morning to find the site packed, it was a free for all as to where you pitched the tent. With only the steep pitches available. If anything that was the only down side with the stay. But having said that on sunday night there was only us and 8 other tents there after a mass exodus.
The view at the top of the hill really couldn't be bettered, it was spectacular. The facilities were adequate for the size of the site, but very clean and well stocked with toilet paper. The owner of the site were really friendly and helpful.
All in all i would definitely go back there again.

We visited 11/12th June 2005. It is a glorious site with unmatched views. The facilities are basic but clean. They had excellent warden care when we arrived, ensuring we got a brilliant site overlooking the bay as it was a very busy weekend. Yes I did slide down my sleeping bag a bit, but this is not a luxury site, it is real outdoor camping with adequate, clean loos, lots of loo roll, 3 adequate showers... and there was no queue when I was there with my sister in law and two year old daughter! Remember your BBQ...but do remember to light the disposable type on rocks so's not to scorch the grass, lets keep it nice for everyone else.
Its a steep drop to the beach...but such a quick access to the beach, you couldn't be any closer, otherwise you'd be camping on the beach! Lovely view of a ruined castle across the bay too. We had a great time and the two year old loved it, not forgetting a really good selection of ice cream in the shop.

This site has the most fantastic views of the bay, but beware the pathway down is only for the very able bodied, and for the climb back make sure you take your oxygen tank! There is a better access but it is a long way round. Some of the site is level but the best views are to be had by pitching your tent on the hill, you may have to make the sacrifice of sleeping upright, as it is so steep.
The owners are very friendly and open the shop from 7.30 to 8 at night. The showers let the site down as they need a token which you put in outside the cubicle which is not easy to get into and if your token runs out half way through you have to start all over again.
It is a fair way to the nearest pub and as the roads are narrow and have no foot path it wouldn't be advisable to walk.
This site is lovely but as it is such a trawl to and from the bay I would not stay here again. I also think the site is more suited to tents than caravans. If you are booking make sure they will have a pitch when you arrive, I booked three months in advance and when we arrived there was no pitch for us, we had to wait while they shuffled the electrics around, we were not amused.
A few miles down the road is Oxwich Bay and if you get there early you can park just a step away from the beach it is lovely, you can park all day for £3. Just away from the bay are shops and cafe.

This site has got to have one of the best views ever. Try and get a pitch on the cliff top, it's worth the effort.
Site has it's own beach access, albeit a bit steep.
Toilets and showers are kept spotless, only gripe is showers are not free.
Previous reviews complain about some of the camp rules. From what I could see they are only common sence to keep the kids safe.
We have used this site many times, and will continue to do so.

Just fabulous. The greatest views of any site I have been to. Quiet, clean well run - sell your kids to get one of the clifftop pitches. and good safe access to a wonderful beach.
Only one tiny niggle - the logistics of getting a coin into the shower slot while naked, and the tight turning circles within the shower cubicles themselves.
From a personal and selfish point of view, I firmly recommend you pass this site by!

Stayed for a fortnight with our sister who was a first time camper, we experienced two really bad storms, lots of flattened tents, fortunatley ours wasn't one of them.
Campsite was great, we has six kids with us who all had a fantastic time. Views spectacular, enormous beach, lots to explore, definately going back next year.

This was our first camping trip and we had a fantastic time. The views from the site are amazing; we pitched in the edge of the field overlooking the bay. The site staff were really helpful and shop was excellent. Only negatives were the Shower / toilet block was great when cleaned but got dirty very quickly when it had been raining. The queue for showers (only 3 in ladies) not amusing with young children... but overall we would definately recommend for the view alone. Just a shame the field wasn't a little flatter. Pitch your tent carefully!! well worth a visit and we will be returning next summer.

Our first camping trip - Stew's first to Wales. A great popular site, well maintained but a bit crowded when we arrived. We ended up on a slope for the first night, but quickly moved in the morning to a spot on the cliff overlooking the most beautiful bay we had ever seen.
We were in awe. We walked on the beach and I ventured into the sea - while city boy Stew observed from the rocks. I did get him to take his walking boots off and buried his feet in the beautiful clean sand!! The showers were great but an occasional queue in the mornings to wash up - remeber to collect tokens from the shop to use these facilities.
It was the most relaxing weekend we have ever spent just cooking and chilling and gazing at the view. We would definately return one day.

Basic site and small but the cleanest site I have ever been to, hot water but it is a token shower. The views are out of this world looking directly over the bay, good atmosphere nice staff. There is a pub about a 10 minute walk away although it is a country road you have to walk on, could be dangers in the dark.
Plenty to do in the area, lots of beaches nearby as well as three cliff but this is one of the best beachs, long walk down and a steep hill coming back up.
Would recommend this site to anyone will go there through this year as well.

Amazing views, this campsite is worth a visit purely based on that. The facilities are basic but more than adequate and clean.
The climb down to the beach is a bit steep, but easily done carrying children and all the days provisions!
Very dog friendly with easy access to areas to exercise them.

What a fantastic site! Arrived early to secure a good spot at the front of the site on the cliff top, with the most spectacular view I have ever seen of the Three cliff's. We had a caravan but beware, you need a long lead to hook up to the electric, we had to face our caravan away from the view because our lead didn't reach the power point. Camper's beware very steep banking for tents but some flat pitches available.
Toilet blocks and shop good. Excellent reception on TV, from caravan aerial (no hook up available). Very steep walk down to Three cliffs bay,(not accessible by car) there is a gentler walk but it takes longer. Fisherman take your gear, its very close to the sea, and the river that runs into the sea contains some good fish. Nice views of castle ruins from the bay.

Summer 2003
Our first attempt at camping !
We purchased a tent and a friend recommended the Three Cliffs Bay site to us. As we live fairly near to swansea and we have 5 children we decided to leave the tent there for a month, we would travel back and forward whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Our children had a fabulous time, although the beach was quite a trek ! A quick drive in the car gave us the opportunity of exploring the fabulous beaches around.
Although we were novices the owners of the site were very helpful, the shop was small but adequate for a small campsite, and the shower blocks were very clean.
There is a field for the children to play in and our Kids were soon whizzing about on their bikes.
I would wholly recommend this site and the helpful people who run it.
