What a gem! Just got back from this site after a really lovely nights stay.... Toilet blocks adequate and spotless, likewise the washing up sinks. The staff are friendly and helpful and the pub is lovely with real ale pumps. Camping in a pub car park doesn't sound good but it is excellent. Superb kids play area with everything they could want but be warned....it is literally next to the camping area.

May 2005 This site is right next door to the Rutlamd Arms, serving real ale and excellent food at the time of our visit, though it is very popular and gets very busy inside and out due to it's location. There is a canal that runs along side of the pub, it is not a working one but there is a nice easy walk along the tow path, with footpaths and bridal ways leading off this, there is also a cycle path.
The site is all grass, level and has lovely views of Belvior Castle, it is about three quarters of a mile to the village which has a shop and another pub. When I phoned I was told there was no need to book which was o.k as we arrived on Friday, but by Saturday lunch time it was full and it felt overcrowded, especially as there were children playing football in an the middle of all the tents and caravans.
There is a play area by the pub car park, here there are some hard standing pitches. The toilets and showers were basic, but adequate, they were kept quite clean though there seemed trouble with drainage at the time of our visit. I am not sure if the site is a little too laid back for the ammount of people that were there but I would like to visit again as I liked the area but maybe not at such a busy time.

27 to 30 July 04 This site was chosen by us specifially because their web site said they had facilities for people with disabilities. No facilities found and the wheelchair ramp into the bar area was even blocked with tables. A most disapointing visit for myself and my carer also for another family with a severely disabled 12 year old who were also relying on facilities for disabled being available to enable us to enjoy the camp site on equal footing with able bodied people.
