This is a nice level and well drained site about 2 miles from the A303, so a useful stop over as well as for short stays. It has new owners who plan to instal more hardstandings (it currently has 3), and to cut the hedges, so then satellite tv will be easier to find (we did find it eventually). It could also benefit from a sign at the end of the lane as it's not the easiest site to find.
From the west, leave the A303 (sp Shaftesbury), immediately turn right at the T junction (sp Bourton), turn right in Bourton to Gillingham, after about a mile the lane to the farm is on the right, the 2nd turn to Silton Church. To leave if going east, turn right, then left in Milton (sp Frome), and you will soon see directions to the A303.
Cost is £9 per night, which we thought very reasonable; water, CWD and rubbish disposal is close to hand with good recycling facilities.
It's in the middle of nowhere so very quiet; there is a garage/shop in Bourton, a Co-op, Waitrose and pub with Sky (Red Lion near the church) in Gillingham, plenty of shops in Shaftesbury with the famous Gold Hill and lovely views.
