Just returned from Southcliffe Caravan Park.

We went for 7 nights, & a change, instead of Haven at Thornwick bay, and £150. 00 cheaper lol.

Cost was £217. 00 inc dog.

For school Holiday Aug booking was good value for money.

Electric hard standing.

A Lovely site just a short walk from the beach.

This part of the beach allows dogs on as well.

And a lovely walk into the town along the sea front. And very very clean and tidy, a credit to the town.

There is also a park and ride & land train to the town centre also located at the sea front up from the site.

The toilet block was very clean, and the staff was always ensuring it was kept that way.

The site was extremely busy and to be honest the touring area is showing it's age.

But a new site should be up and running next year.

Quite crowded and you could definitely be unlucky with neighbours, as we were on 3 nights, but hey hoo.

There was a children's playground, chip shop, laundry and shop on site. All at a fair price.

There was a small arcade, alongside the bar, & night time entrainment was very busy. This went on until late which is fine if you aren't in a tent as their field is right next door.

We will definitely be returning to the new site, as the pitches will all be 30' x 30' either superpitch, hardstanding grass pitch, or full grass pitch.

New prices will be out in Sept.

Excellent location within minutes of a beautiful beach and easy to walk into Bridlington or catch a bus. Smart clean site with immaculate facilities, shop, club etc. On the minus side touring site is next to an extremely busy and very noisy road, sitting in our awning we couldn’t hear the tv. Quieter at night though. Pitches are very close together which doesn’t give you much room or privacy. Far too many have been crammed into what could be a more roomy pitch. Staff friendly but some campers extremely noisy.

Spent 4 nights here at the end of October, during the rain. Had stayed here in June in one of the Glamping huts.

The ground was a quagmire, made worse by cars driving over it to ge to their pitches in the middle of the camping field, drivers feeling that it is important to spin the wheels! Wifi was intermittent but suspect that it was in high demand during the half term week, gave us good reason for not communicating with Friends and family. The sea was 15 min walk away then a lovey stroll (not into the wind) into Bridlington.

Well kept services considering the weather.

A lovely location from whence to explore the local area.

Would we go back- yes, but we have now explored the area, but would recommend the site.

We arrived in our touring caravan on Sunday 22nd October 2017 to enjoy a half-term break with our children. I must say on arrival the site looked nice and secure and the static caravans and grounds looked pleasant and well maintained. The touring pitches however were a different story. The pitches are so small and closely packed together that it's very difficult to manoeuvre the caravan to the correct position. This we could cope with but the fact that the car got stuck in the mud in the first 10 minutes was a sign of things to come! It was an absolute mud bath. There was no drainage on the site whatsoever. There was a small concrete hard standing for the caravan and just a few squashed in pebbles on which to pitch the awning and barely room to park the car. Within hours our brand new awning and ground sheet were caked in mud. There mud inside the caravan, mud on the dog, mud on the kids, mud on everything! I appreciate that it is October and generally it's a wetter month but I've never been on a site that has no drainage to cope with rainfall (whatever the season) and no apparent site maintenance at all! Our pitch and many of the surrounding pitches were not fit to camp on. Being in a wheelchair, I couldn't even attempt to go outside without trailing through thick wet mud. By Tuesday morning, we'd had enough and went to talk to reception. We were met with very defensive and rude staff. They said they couldn't move us to a dryer pitch (although their were dozens of empty pitches) and worse still there was NO APOLOGY! We asked them to go and look at our pitch but they didn't want to know. We obviously didn't get a refund for the remaining days of our holiday and returned home a very unhappy family! Just some acknowledgement from the staff regarding the awful conditions that had cut short our holiday to barely 36 hours would have been something, but to be quite frank they just didn't care. I am absolutely disgusted! Also the on-site shop is extortionate, at least a 50% mark up on all groceries. Incidentally, if you are yourself a wheelchair user, please be warned that you need to take your own radar key. I was not aware of this and was told by the staff that I had to go into Bridlington and buy a key before I could use the disabled facilities! I know it's a council run site but they took our money and gave us something in return that was not fit for purpose. They just didn't care. We would never go back again and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone !

Lovely site just a short walk from the beach. There is also a park and ride land train to the town centre from the beach

The toilet block was fairly clean. The site was extremely busy so a small amount of wear and tear is expected.

Full electric hook up.

Quite crowded you could definitely be unlucky with neighbours

There was a children's playground, chip shop, laundry and shop on site but I didn't use any of these.

There was a small arcade which probably needs some love and attention as a few machines were broken.

The night time entrainment was great and very busy. This went on until late which is fine if you aren't in a tent as their field is right next door.

I will definitely be returning to this site

Whilst it has much to recommend it, South Cliff is a HUGE site complete with an on-site club house, so if what you're seeking is a nice quiet weekend away, I would seriously suggest looking elsewhere as you really are not going to enjoy this place. If, however entertainment on-site and late nights is your thing then go for it.

Firstly the positives: The kids play area is well equipped and right next to the tent area, so if you have younger kids this could be a big plus for you. There's also a basketball / football court area adjacent to this. There are 2 toilet/shower blocks which are on the whole kept clean and tidy and on our visit over the bank holiday weekend, we didn't have to queue once. There's an on-site shop which is well stocked with the essentials and staff are very helpful/pleasant. There's also a chippy which seemed well used but we didn't sample the wares. The site is well situated for a walk into Bridlington and the beach is only at the top end of the site. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

On the downside, the proximity of the tent area to the clubhouse is one element which leads to an incredibly noisy stay as the 'boom boom' from it goes on into the small hours of the morning. This combined with a clientèle who seem to think it a good idea to 'share' their music loudly way past any reasonable hour leads to a lack of sleep. Tent pitches are not huge and seem to be very tightly spaced. There also seemed to be a distinct lack of grass on many of them which was disappointing seeing as this was very early in the season. Although toilet/shower facilities are good, a squeegee or similar would be a good idea as some shower cubicles can quickly become muddy if it's been raining and the cleaners have been and gone!

If the noise element could be controlled from the club and security keeping an eye on sound levels from fellow campers, then we'd be tempted to return. However, valuing a reasonable night' sleep too highly, we sadly won't be rushing back which is a shame as it's convenient for where we live.

Have to agree with other user reviews, this is a well run site with all the amenities you require with perhaps the exception of a swimming pool. The fact it has no pool is of little consequense as when the sun shines the beach is just 10 minutes walk away. If I can allow myself ONE little moan it is the proximity of pitches to each other, you (that is I) feel that your neighbour is almost sharing your pitch with you and for £28 a night I would have liked a little more space. Would I go again ??? I most certainly would.

We had an enjoyable week here. Good position for beech and other points of interest (a nice walk to Bridlington wild life park and the John Bull rock factory).

Various shops (Morrisons. Tesco, Farm Foods etc within driving distance).

A good drive away from Scarborough and other areas.

The toilet blocks were spotless and warm. Toilets cubicles are narrow. Shower cubicles could do with more hooks to hook toilet bag and dry clothes on.

There's a shop, fish shop, club, playing area for the kids and amusements.

Didn't rate the fish from the fish shop, it was greasy and the batter was soggy. Chips were nice though.

Various entertainment on a night time. We had karaoke and a children's magician (who spent most of his act shushing the kids).

They introduced Free Wifi this year but we were unable to get any further than connecting. Wouldn't let us access internet or any on-line content the whole time we were there.

We went in our trailer tent with electric hook up. Hard standing area for the trailer and a pebbled area for the awning.

Friendly people and staff, but we have yet to go camping and meet anyone unfriendly.

There is a bit of segregation where your choice of accommodation is concerned. Tents are in their own bushed off area, trailer tents and folding campers seem to be placed along the outer perimeters while those with campers and caravans are placed along the roads

We originally did a weekend here last year before booking for the full week. We will certainly be booking again.

Visited this caravan park in May for the weekend. Been to this caravan park many times. Hardstanding pitches for caravans motorhomes and a few tent pitches. There are two toilet blocks which are always kept clean. Check in is always swift and hassle free. Plenty to do on site bars shop chippy playground beach is next to the site. We like the walk to Bridlington which takes less than 30mins stroll from site down the prom next to the beach. Makis club on the site serves good inexpensive meals there's also a pub down the road Lobster Pot that serves food but cannot comment as we never called in. It can get very busy but it is always quiet at night and we've never had to queue for a shower. Loads of places to visit Filey, Scarborough etc. When we visit Bridlington this is the site we always use.

We arrived on the Tuesday before Easter and I believe that the local schools had not broken up. We were one of the few vans on site, apart from quite a few unoccupied seasonals. We were helped onto pitch by 2 very helpful groundsmen. All the facilities were very quiet. Then after being out for the day on Good Friday, we arrived back to a completely different campsite. I think around 100 vans and 20+ Tents had arrived. We were a little worried about potential noise etc. We actually couldn't have been more wrong. I had asked for a pitch specially away from entertainment etc and that helped greatly. On pitch 150, we were furthest from the bar etc, however we were nearest the main road, so expect some traffic noise. Maybe if it was warmer at night, it could have been noisier?

Despite the amount of people on site. I never once queued for the shower and they were kept very clean despite the mud.

There were a few things that irked me about the site: firstly our pitch was behind other pitches, so we had to traipse across muddy grass to go to the toilet block. Secondly the showers were warm but but could have been hotter. I didn't like the type of nozzles, which made your hair wet, if not washing your hair. Also there were too few hooks /places to put your dry clothes and the soap dish in the shower was useless, so there was no where to put your shampoo, conditioner or shower Gel, apart from on the floor. My last gripe was the toilets, there was no where to hang towels or toilet bags whilst going to the toilet, apart from the floor and due to their narrowness, I had to sit with my arm on the Sanitary Bin (yuk).

Despite the few niggles. Staff were very friendly and the site was in a nice location with easy access to Bridlington via Park and Ride.

There is a large Morrisons within a short drive with Aldi and a MacDonalds on the same site.

Fish and Chips on site were very good.

Day visits included Scarborough - not much to see there apart from shops

Filey - much more quaint than Scarborough.

York Designer Outlet - great for clothes shopping

Hornsea - nice outlet and lovely trip to Honeysuckle Farm - great for day out with kids

Flamborough (North Landing) - take nets and crab lines for rockpooling.

Would we visit again? Yes if it wasn't such a long drive (took us 8. 5 hours from Dorset) and if we could get 8 nights for just over £100 again!
