We went to the campsite in Carcassonne, only to find it closed, and we were directed to this site as nearby, however it took us a good 10 mins drive to get here, and decided it was too far to cycle back into Carcassonne, the site is on the outskirts of the village near a sports centre.
The reception was smooth, and we were invited to choose a pitch. Most of the pitches were flat and grassy and divided by hedges. There were some trees for shade. The roadways were covered in fine gravel, and as it was windy it was unpleasantly dusty. People were walking dogs and there was dog dirt in the gravel area outside the facilities.
There was an area of mobile homes together on the site, with an area of pitches for tents and caravans.
There was 1 facility block but half of it was closed, the open section was unisex, and as the site was busy, it wasn't very clean. The shower water was cool and the washing up water in the outside area was also cool, we ended up boiling the kettle to wash up.
The site map says there is a swimming pool, children's playground and snack bar, but we didn't investigate these. We found a supermarket not far away.
As the occupants of the neighbouring tent kept us awake until 1 am we were glad to leave the following morning.
The price was moderate.
