We arrived on the Wednesday to find we had the whole site to ourselves for the next 2 days - BLISS!
The owner, Jim, greeted us on our arrival and pointed out where to find everything and then left us to settle in. He was in no rush to take payment and said to call up at the farmhouse whenever we were ready.
The 1 acre grass site is quite undulating with 6 marked out pitches around the perimeter of the field.
Where the pitches are, the owners have levelled the area and placed plastic matting under the grass to form a sort of hard standing. I used rock pegs to secure our sun canopy but these weren't really necessary!
There is an EHU bollard and fresh water tap between each pair of pitches.
There is also a CDP and rubbish bins on site.
Just round the corner is a wonderful play area but as this can't be seen directly from the campsite, adult supervision may be required.
My 2 boys had a wonderful time playing here.
There are also some excellent recycling facilities a very short walk from the site, located at the self catering cottages.
As we had the whole site to ourselves, the boys had the freedom to run around and play football and frisbee without disturning anyone.
Once other vans arrived on site, we respectfully put the toys away!
This site is located down a quiet country lane, close to the market town of Northallerton, where you will find a good selection of shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and a leisure centre.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - it is the perfect place to relax and unwind, and we have already booked to go back.
