 We spent a long weekend at this site in June. It’s a fairly basic, old-school type of site, with an unmetered 6a electric supply on the EHU pitches. However, some pitches seem to share supplies with wires running from adjacent pitches though. There is an ablution portacabin-type building with two toilets and a shower for ladies and the same for gents, a pot washing hut, and recycling facilities.
The site is family-run and very friendly, making it a peaceful place with a great dawn chorus, lots of wildlife, and perfect for campers with dogs. BBQs and fire pits are allowed as long as they’re off the ground and you keep a bucket of water nearby.
However, there are a few issues. The showers drain badly, and the toilets are often dirty (apparently cleaned only once a day). The site isn’t the main focus of income for the family, so it seems to be not as well cared for as it perhaps could be. There are homemade signs and derelict-looking caravans around the site. Additionally, we didn’t receive any communication after booking, even though we were told we should have.
Overall, it’s not a bad site, but sadly not a great one either. Given its location, it could be so much more.

Dirty. Owners claim they clean every day but the toilets and showers were not cleaned all weekend, Saturday they were bad, Sunday worse and Monday morning they were horrendous.
Family living on site leave their dogs outside barking all night.

Had a problem with a tyre so we were late arriving, Mick rang me to make sure we were ok.
This was our first outing with a caravan & he helped us sort it all out & parked up.
Toilets really clean - can’t wait to go back

Lupine Woods is a basic certificated site (members only) located at the end of a private road. This gives it a great remote feeling whilst still being near the shops and pubs in Haxey. It does have toilets and EHUs but there are no showers. There is also a basic shepherds hut with two beds in which is available for hire.
The camping area is surrounded by trees and there are footpaths next to the site, through the woods into Haxey. Our dog loved walking through the woods which caused loud snoring at night. There is also a disused railway track through Haxey which seemed popular with walkers.
Haxey itself has a Co-op supermarket, a village store and three pubs which all serve food. I didn't notice a takeaway but there may be one.
We had a brilliant time at Lupine Woods and spent most of the time walking or relaxing. The weather was fantastic which was a bonus and we were the only ones staying on site. We will return here in the future.
