 Perfect little campsite - everything you’d need for a couple of nights to visit beautiful Vezelay.
Facilities are basic but spotless, warm welcome on arrival and cold beers available to purchase from reception as well as local wine and other necessities.
Pitches aren’t huge but it suited us well, we travelled with a car and roof tent with awning and had sufficient space.
There is also a shuttle bus between the campsite and Vezelay, which we were pleased to find out when the lovely lady driver stopped in the pouring rain to offer us a lift back to the campsite.
No fancy stuff like parc aquatique, discotheque etc, there isn’t a children’s playground either, but it’s a nice quiet place to stay.

I liked that there was a clean site at Asquins with a small swimming pool and a shady pitch to locate the tent after a hot day. It was close to Vezelay

Pitches not marked out. Good choice of shady or sunny places. River runs next to site. Very quiet out of season.
Showers ok but not much hanging space for clothes.
Green bollards for electricity points and water taps. Illuminated at night - not as obtrusive as usual campsite lighting. Handy covered area for eating with light. Also an indoor room with tables and chairs. Fridge freezer provided but could do with a good clean.
Bread available from bar in village. Restaurant in village but closed when we were there. Long walk to restaurant in Saint Pere - good food though and English spoken.
Nice waymarked walking route to Vezelay from campsite.
