We had the pleasure of staying on this lovely little site for 3 nights. Its is well run and friendly and in a lovely location. The facilities are basic but clean and good showers, so for a small campsite it was better than most. It is about 10 mins from the local village with a great bakery and loads for children to do in the area. If you like natural surroundings and peace and quiet then this is for you!
Had a smile on my face from the moment we drove into the site. A rare find that lived up to all my expectations and is well described by earlier reviews.
A lovely rural site that is thoughtfully maintained and has been 'developed' along side it's natural surroundings. You feel like you are camping in a very special place. No electricity, but this is all part of the charm. Oil lights in the toilet blocks at night and solar lights are scattered around the site.
The games hut is fantastic. Loads of games and books, plus musical instruments. Lots of tables and a new addition this year is solar charging points for those square things our children seem to have attached to them. There is also a fridge and a cooker, so if bad weather really hits then sanctuary can be taken in there.
Toilets are clean and the showers are good and hot. Like other reviewers have mentioned, they are basic, but somehow the site would not feel right with brand new facilities! There is also good washing up and clothes washing sinks.
Loads of things to borrow if you forget the odd thing, people did not abuse this, but it is nice to know it is there just in case.
So a great place to camp. A tent feels right on this site but there is no problem with caravans or campers. Good pitching areas, lots of shade and sun.
Lots of Dutch campers, which is always a good sign in my books, they know how to camp properly. Also a few groups of campers, either because they started off as a group or formed friendship groups over the years. However, no problems with noise even from the English!
Camp fire pits are provided, some you have to share, but that adds to the fun.
Loads to do for the children, playing around the large boulders, making dens and playing down by the stream.
Lovely shop in the village for bread and basics.
Loads to do in the surrounding area and some great bike riding roads.
Judy is lovely and will recommend places to eat and even book them for you. Somehow, over the last 25 years she has created and cared for something that is very special.
There is loads more I could say. We are already planning our return.
Used this campsite as a base for several days on a cycle touring holiday. Its a well kept, clean,
And simple/basic campsite in a beautiful rural setting. It was not very busy when I was there in mid July so there was no difficulty in finding a great pitch for the tent.
The owner is very helpful and speaks English.
There is a good bakery/store in the nearby village.
I can recommend this campsite if you want to relax and unwind.
This campsite is for people looking for peace, beauty, and the caretaker of this magic spot, who has the ability to conjure camp fire gatherings with the aid of a drop of locally brewed cidre. We first went with an 18 month old - who now 9 thinks its just as awesome. There are beautiful beaches a drive away. There are bikes for visits to the village shop. Don't expect modern facilities, the basics are all there and well maintained. But most of all this place generates a spirit and joy, that will mean you might find yourself not venturing far from the campsite at all.
We stayed in 8 campsites on our recent trip to Brittany and this was by far our favourite - it's 10 minutes walk from the village of Le Cloître St Thégonnec South of Morlaix (with car and small shop) and 5km from the voie verte cycle track (take the second exit if going South for an easier cycle). It's a relaxed low key site in a beautiful, quiet location. It has spacious pitches, hot showers, bikes to borrow and a big games room with a cooker and space for eating in bad weather. It was great for our children (aged 11 and 13) with table tennis and badminton but it's also fantastic for smaller children with a play caravan and lots of toys. Also perfect for nature lovers - it's located in the Amorique Conservation Park, has a childsafe stream and great birdwatching. The owner is extraordinarily helpful and, best of all, wood is available and campfires allowed.
