 We stayed On Mull for a week in 3 different campsites and this was by far the best one for us. It felt wild and less tamed.
The wildlife was exceptional, the access to the rocks by the water was so close to our tents.
The facilities were much better than we expected. There were 2 toilets and a room to shelter in if the weather is really bad, a sink to wash up in with hot water! This room is about 5-10 minute walk from the camping area. It was very clean.
The people were very friendly and it's incredibly good value at £7 per person per night.
Best of all, we saw the white tailed eagles several times!

Love Killiechoean campsite. Step off the conveyor belt for a few days. Camping how it used to be.
Friendly, relaxed. Beautiful views. Good hot water always for dishes, and toilets.
You step out from the convenience about 10. 30pm and are often greeted by a few deers. Bats and frogs as you walk back to your pitch. Chance to see White tailed or Golden Eagles in the day. Otters not far away.
Located in Central Mull, nothing is too far away, Tobermory, Ulva, Loch Buie, Iona.
Been going here now for several years and it keeps calling us back.
Thanks to Mark and Fiona for looking after this special place.
Grandson loves the wildness and calmness.

Lovely peaceful, relaxed campsite with beautiful views.
Simple site with toilets, water and washing up.
Clean facilities a short walk away down a quiet lane Village a short drive away for supplies.
Pony trekking on Highland ponies opposite campsite.

Wow - what a find. Came for a night and stayed 2 weeks. After 2 weeks at Fidden decided to explore the island, awesome drive round to Killiechronan, £7 pppn, water and loos, bins 5 mins walk away ideal for us. Quiet and weather was sooo sunny.
Ideal base for doing a quick tramp up Ben More - on top for 8am as too hot to be walking later in day, loch great for paddleboarding. Dogs loved it too.
Buzzards and Whitetailed Eagles spotting.
Short drive to Salen for supplies, Tobermory too.
Great hosts, friendly but not in your face, had some locally shot Venison too, butchered locally, tasty and healthy mmm.

Beautiful picturesque location at the head of a sea loch.
Just turn up, find our own spot, owner will collect a very reasonable fee in the evening.
No facilities on site, toilet block at the farmhouse a short walk away down the road.

A very quiet and easy going campsite. Just like wild camping. Excellent views and the horses opposite made it a perfect setting. I believe they do horse trekking.
The toilets were very clean and maintained well. Although a long distance from the campsite itself, so not ideal for the less able. We got round this by driving up to them, which wasn't a problem. It took us awhile to find them though.
A well stocked shop was found in the nearby village of Salen.
Definitely recommended in an ideal location on the Isle of Mull.

5th year with Young Grandson. And several years now with husband each end of May for wild life.
Grandson loves the space and calm and countryside. We love peace quiet, views, wildlife and simple living from our van or tent. So good to still have these family friendly campsites.
Good for Duke of Edingburgh and walkers, cyclist and wildlife enthusiasts or people just wanting to enjoy life.

Great location and views but a long walk to the toilet.
Even further to the nearest pub!
Lovely view of the loch and very quiet.
No showers but toilet and dishwashing was clean, just a 250m walk to carry the dishes

Very quiet and lovely views of the mountains and loch. Waders on the beach and deer on the mountains.
Long walk to basic facilities, toilet and washing up.
Excellent value and friendly.
