 Not too friendly…. We evidently booked a select site but one friend didn’t, they wouldn’t give 2 of us the extra £10pn back for select site, so other friend had to pay extra £20, to allow us all to be together! select site only includes a Bench! Who needs a Bench, when everyone has their own tables!
Hardly any hard standing, all grass so very dirty
Huge beyond belief site
Great surroundings outside, horses everywhere, nice walks
Nothing to walk to, you have to drive 🥴
We had lovely time together but staffing could have been more accommodating, especially as site closes in 2weeks

Spent 2 nights here and thought it was a great site.
It has a well stocked on site shop and plenty of shower and toilet blocks.
We found the staff very friendly too.

This is a lovely large site. So peaceful, surrounded by the forest and the animals within.
Staff friendly making sure you get pitched correctly and listening to any comments you have.
Toilets and showers cleaned regularly, take aways delivered to site plus pizza van on site some evenings.
Lovely walks and cycle rides. Beaches and lovely towns close by.
Very enjoyable stay.

We went in our motorhome and our son and family came in a tent, we had a great time,
Ideal location for the family to go off to different seasides, while we walked to Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst, bus into lymington, and also all had a great time in the forest seeing the lovely horses, and them walking everywhere on site,
Also great facilities on site,
Would definitely go again ❤️

One of the more disappointing of the Forest sites, which we generally love. Flat, open, uninspiring campsite, with a slightly neglected feel to it.
Overpriced compared to other Forest sites and we didn’t even have electric.
Warden told us to go anywhere except x and x and x and neglected to mention that one toilet block was completely shut.
Remaining toilet blocks weren’t cleaned at all between the daily schedule which meant they seemed messy.
Seasonal camping units plots looked scruffy and overgrown.
Wardens ignoring rules such as speed limits and dogs off leads.
The area just outside would have been nice for walking if it wasn’t dog poo alley!
Won’t re-visit 3/10

The site was very clean, tidy. Staff very accommodating and friendly.
Perfect for kids - Play area etc.
Great for walkers.
Beautiful scenery. Picturesque!
Facilities are clean. Gets busy at times but as expected.
Definitely recommend staying.

Situated in the heart of the New Forest the site is large and was very busy but quiet,
The wardens are very friendly and accommodating,
Would recommend a visit

Great welcome by staff when we arrived who showed us to our pitch and where everything was on the site.
We had the choice of 2 toilet & shower blocks which were cleaned twice a day and we’re spotless.
The site shop was open and had everything you could want on a camping trip.
Despite the weather we had a great time great walks and loads of new forest ponies.
Would recommend this site to all😊

Nice campsite, very friendly staff and super helpful.
Not our first time here and really enjoyed our stay once again.
Will certainly come again.
I was a bit disappointed to see a lot of EHU pitches available as when I booked there were none available but no major issues,
Facilities were a decent standard and kept relatively clean even though the site was quite busy.

Great 2 night stay, this is a vast site lots of space, although busy it was easy to find a quieter spot nestled in the trees away from the busy areas as you can pick your own pitch, this does mean a bit of a walk to the shower and toilet blocks but well worth it as being surrounded by tents is not my ideal pitch, we are fussy campers !
Plenty of ponies to see outside the site and nice walks. I would recommend this site and stay again.

We loved this site. Went with our 5 year old grandson. There is a huge amount of space to play, and a well provided playground as well. Turn left out of the front gate and you are cycling on the lovely traffic free New Forest cycle tracks.
Yes it is on the site of an old airfield, so there is tarmac/concrete on which motorhomes and caravans pitch, but by pitching alongside one of the fields we could step out onto grass while having the benefit of a very level pitch.
The 3 toilet/shower blocks(presumably old RAF buildings) were cleaned at least once a day and had more than adequate space for all the summer weekend campers.
The large shop sells everything you may have forgotten to bring (but not newspapers). No wifi, and very patchy mobile phone coverage (we discovered the sweet spot, near the motorhome service point, as we were leaving unfortunately).
The staff are helpful and friendly. Our one complaint is that they did not enforce their own 'dogs on leads' rule, resulting in several piles of dog poo lurking in the grass.
We had to wait about 15 minutes on arrival, as a group of about 20 New Forest ponies was blocking the road. Great local colour!

I was rather worried about staying at this site due to some poor reviews. I needn’t have worried! Unfortunately we can only stay one night, but we will be back.
Friendly and helpful wardens. It’s a lovely but unusual
Setting on an old airfield. It has a lovely feel about it. I much prefer it to the clinical and expensive MH&CC site we’ve just been on (Black Knowl) which was soulless and just rows
Of mainly caravans, and £10 a night more expensive!
This site is open but next to forest and heath and great for wildlife. There are 3
Toilet blocks which were better than I’d imagined. There is a large shop selling camping equipment, food, fresh bread, wine & beer AND it has a takeaway open from 8-5. 15 and 5 stars for food hygiene.
The ground was dry even after 24 hours of solid rain. Loved it! And if you think I’m easily pleased, you need to read my other reviews-I am rather picky!

It was the first time camping for me, my 2 sons (age 3 and 6) and our camper van, we arrived and were directed in by a really helpful guy.
I had my reservations as its the August Bank Holiday, with the rarist of things, excellent weather, so thought it would be overcrowded etc etc. But I was surprised! There was still some good pitches left and in good positions.
We camped next to a tree to give us a bit of shade. We went exploring and bought some new forest ice creams from the well stocked and I have to say, not badly priced shop (compared to others I've witnessed) the people working in the shops are one of my main reasons for writing this review.
Everything they seemed to do was with a helpful smile, and that goes a long way for me.
Then there's the location. Incredible! Even the commute in through the new forest was spectacular and felt like we were somewhere special special.
In the campsite there are a few stiles around the circumference where you can easily hop the fence and BAM you're in the middle of the forest, surrounded by beautiful walks and much to my 3 Yr olds excitement a never ending supply of blackberry bushes.
I'm not one for going to the same place year in, year out, but I dare say youll be seeing us again Holmsley!

This is a spacious site with lots of facilities. Caravans park on the roads and there are green areas for tents. Staff are friendly and there's a well equipped shop.
The facilities are clean but run down.
