Please note, there are no longer touring pitches at this location. Eype Beach Holiday Park will have Caravan Holiday Homes available from May 2024, with further plans for Glamping and Holiday Homes for sale later in the year

If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

 Beautiful views and amazing walks.

The facilities were well kept and very clean.

A little gem tucked away right on the coast.

We will certainly be back now we have found such a pretty spot

Very nice site. We had chosen 2 big pitches together and another close by with electric. The pitches were terraced because the site is on a steep cliff side.

Amazing views from our tent and plenty of space. Once we got used to the long steep walk to the toilets we had no complaints and had a wonderful time.

Small shop on site and beach 5 min walk.

Very friendly man looking after the site, used to walk around and chat to people.

Only downside while we were there the shower block was closed because of a boiler breakdown so only 2 showers working.

We have known this site for over 30 years and part of its charm is its inaccessibility and therefore the absence of large caravans. Sadly what has changed over 30 years is the price.

At 34 for a small pitch without electricity and showers that are in dire need of refurbishment Eype House is possibly one of the most expensive campsites I've ever stayed on.

Had a great stay, weather was really good which just added to it.

Easily accessible coastal walks, beach is in sight, pub serving good ale and food is a 5-10 minute walk along the quite country road.

Due to being on the cliff edge it can get quite windy from the sea, however, the pay-off is the beautiful views.

The bathroom facilities on site are a little dated, but they were clean and tidy and that's the main thing we think. Shop on site stocks the basics and comes in handy for an ice cream after a nice long walk!

Little gem of a place and will go back.

Wow, what a fantastic location! I booked this site for one night, but ended up staying for three, and really didn't want to leave.

My pitch was yards from the SW Coast Walk, right on the cliff edge, with amazing views of the sea and the bay. I chose a non hookup pitch, these are on the outside of the field next to the cliff so you get the best views. EHU pitches are in the middle, so your view may be blocked on one of those.

Access to this campsite could be fun and games, it's down a long very narrow access road, with barely any passing spaces. For this reason caravans are not permitted, and only smallish motorhomes / campervans. I ended up having to reverse uphill and round corners a couple of times due to cars coming the other way who seemed completely incapable of reversing. Anyway.

Once you are on the site it's a lovely location. One thing to bear in mind is that it's hilly, very hilly. The site itself is very steep, so you will be doing a lot of up and down walking even to get to the loos. That said they've done a lot of levelling work, so the actual pitches are nice and flat.

Shower and toilet facilities were very good, clean and in good order, plenty of hot water in the showers. There are good recycling facilities too.

As I said earlier, my pitch was yards from the SW path, there was a stile from the campsite straight on to the path. From there you have miles and miles of glorious walking in either direction. Just bear in mind it's pretty steep so you will need to be reasonably fit. It's about a five minute steep walk down to the sea itself where there's a stoney beach.

Going East from the site along the SW Coast path you can walk to West Bay, I'd say it's about two miles each way, again pretty steep up and down. West Bay has pubs and shops, harbour etc and is a nice place for a visit. If you carry on past West Bay you can walk pretty much as far as you like, I ended up in West Bexington, about 13 miles away, and got a taxi back!

Going the other way, West along the SW Coast path is Seatown, with a lovely pub on the beach - it's about four miles there with wonderful landscapes and spectacular views everywhere. You can walk back in a big circle slightly inland if you prefer.

There are also some great footpaths going inland - basically this place is a walkers paradise!

Back to the campsite itself, there's a public hotel bar five minutes up the road for drinks and food, and it has a nice garden with distant seaviews. There is a pub another five minutes up the road, but I didn't make it there, hotel bar was too good! There's a lovely little cafe on campsite itself, although I didn't actually use it, and a small shop for essentials.

All in all, I loved this site, and will definitely return whenever I can - just bear in mind the slightly awkward access road and be prepared for hard work walking up and down the hills, even to use the loo!

Super site, couldn't be closer to a fab, clean, pebbly beach, with great views. Friendly helpful staff at check in / shop. Sloping site but tent pitches are stepped so had a flat space for tent and car with some effort at privacy with plant life around pitch. Quiet enough in evening for us to get to sleep. Felt safe for kids but no play park or anything, this didn't bother us as beach was so close. Perfect also for coastal walks. We headed along to West Bay one eve, just 1 mile each way. Excellent, clean facilities with free showers and access to w/m, dryer, iron, phone charger all for reasonable fee. Nearest supermarket/petrol station 1. 5m away in Bridport.

Only way could be improved is to open shop bit earlier for milk sales (9am), and be aware if in a big vehicle or towing trailer that its accessed via small, steep road with limited passing spaces.

Delighted to see great recycling availability, shame so many other campers didn't use this and put their cans, cardboard and plastic bottles in general waste.

We will definitely return.

Amazing place off the beaten track, down a narrow lane but easy for small to medium size campervans. The electric hookup was pay for what use.

Pitches are up a hill overlooking the beech offer an amazing view out to sea, sun rises were spectacular. Grass pitches that were well mowed

I understand the Toilet and Shower facilities have been updated recently both were modern and very clean and smelled fresh

I reckon mine was 1 of the largest motorhomes to get to the site. The road is narrow & overgrown through the village down to the site. Later on in the season it is likely to be impassable to coach-built vehicles.

To have small, independent flat pitches, high up on the edge of the hill, looking straight out over the bay towards Portland was exhilarating & stupendous. Sunrise was glorious.

Facilities were good. Only minus point: the shower lights turned off in the middle of a shower, which meant fumbling around in the dark, & at this point I slipped over on the very smooth tray.

The walk into West Bay was not far.

Stunning location but not suitable for larger vehicles/campers.

Gardens neat and camping area clean and tidy.

Clean facilities for washing up.

Toilet block basic but clean. No room to hang washbag etc or shelves to place items on.

Showers although clean, have a severe problem with shower heads and pressure. The shower sprays out to around 6 feet and not actually on your head so trying to wash off shampoo efficiently was challenging.

No electric plug sockets to use for charging your phone etc.

Shop on site will charge mobiles for 50pence a go.

Shop expensive - 1. 50 for takeaway cup of tea(cheap teabags)

The New Inn pub (dog friendly)about 10m walk away and serves good food with higher than average prices.

Bridport is closest town around 10m drive away and has everything you may need, supermarket, pubs, cafes, charity shops etc.

Would stay there again if they fixed the showers.
