Lovely campsite.
We stayed the weekend with family and had the site to ourselves!
Nice level pitches, quiet and great for dark skies, owls and bats.
Dog friendly with a good walk just across the road from site.

Fox Covert is a lovely level, peaceful and dog friendly site, we paid £15 per night for a pitch with electricity. The owners were very welcoming and friendly.
There are no toilet or shower facilities so you need to have your own, there are 2 drinking water taps, refuse and recycling bins and elsan disposal point.
There is a good pub in Finghall which is a nice 10 minute walk from the site across the road and on the bridal path straight opposite the site entrance and the bridal path goes behind the house to Thornton steward Reservoir which has a circular walk.
We would highly recommend Fox Covert if you enjoy a peaceful well kept caravan site in a lovely countryside setting.
We will definitely be visiting again.

Stayed here for a week, after staying near Ripon for Le Tour de France Grand Depart. Very peaceful site in the middle of rolling countryside, perfect for cycling, although this was curtailed for us due to the remnants of the American hurricane. We wear made most welcome. The site is flat with well mown grass, part sheltered, and very east access. In fact just perfect.
Leyburn is nearby for all shopping needs. This is a wonderful site to either walk or cycle from, especially the cycling as there are so many quiet roads and lanes. We will be back.

We have just returned from another lovely weekend away at Fox Covert we have been going very regular now for 9 years and can't fault it.
The site is always very well maintained and the owners are very friendly, as we have been going here for so long our children have grown up with theirs so are always happy to go.
There are lots of places to visit in the local area a short walk is Thornton Steward reservoir where you can often just sit and watch the boating club sailing around.
If you walk down into Finghall you can catch the train and ride along the Wensleydale railway. Take the train to Redmire and then catch the Vintage bus for a ride into Hawes where you can visit the famous Wensleydale Cheese factory, take a tour and then taste all the delicious cheeses.
Situated in between Bedale and Leyburn 2 lovely small towns, Bedale carboot on a Saturday morning is always good for a bargain. Short ride into Catterick for your shopping with a large Tesco and also Aldi. Any problems with your caravan there are 2 caravan retailers with a good supply of replacement parts in Catterick.
Catterick Sunday market is a great place to have a wonder, lots of farms to take the kids or just miles of countryside for those that like to walk.
If your looking for a quite spot this site is certainly the place to go (maybe not when we are there with our 3 kids though lol) but if you have children then it is perfect as they will be out all day playing.

Loved the site, the area, the owners and their young children. Its a working farm with animals on site so expect the chickens to visit you.
There is so much to do and visit in the surrounding area we ran out of time and will definitely be returning to continue to explore this outstanding area of beauty.
There is so much to choose from for the children, Flamingo Land, light-water valley, Big Sheep Little Sheep.
There are enough castles for you to explore for weeks, for example Richard the III Castle in Middleham, Bolton Castle and Richmond Castle, where they say you can sometimes still hear The little Drummer Boy.
You can visit the cheese factory in Hawes where you can sample the various amounts of cheese on offer including 'Wallace & Grommits favourite cheese'
The Falls at Aysgarth where Kevin Costner splashed about in as Robin Hood. Spectacular!
The play park in Leyburn aptly named the 'Shawl' as allegedly this is where Mary Queen of Scott's dropped her shawl whilst attempting to escape from Bolton Castle.
This is one gem of a site we can't wait to get back to.

We have just returned from another great break at Fox Covert Farm. We were told about this site many years ago and have visited many times due to the total peace and relaxation of the location.
The site is small and family owned and is always kept very tidy. The grass is kept short and the site is flat and easy to access. There are very friendly free range chickens on the farm and a very friendly farm dog who will gladly keep you occupied for hours if you enjoy playing ball!
The towns of Leyburn and Middleham are within a short drive, they contain several good country pubs. There are also the market towns of Richmond and Hawes which provide a good day out.
The two children who live at the farm enjoy playing with visiting children and our daughter can't wait to go out and play as soon as the sun comes up. She also had the opportunity of seeing a lamb being born on this visit.
There are lovely walks from the farm in all directions and the Steam Railway which operates in summer can be boarded at Finghall Station which is about 2 miles away.
There are no toilet facilities on site, but caravaners will not find this a problem, the usual water and waste facilities are available.
We look forward to our next visit to Fox Covert Farm in a few months time.
