Rural site with lovely scenery. Owners helpful without being overpowering. Site is level grass with a couple of hardstandings. We were very lucky to have sunshine and no rain even at the end of September.
As we live in a very quiet rural area we were aware of the daytime traffic although a lot of this was farm tractors and other farming vehicles. Although particularly at weekends you may get motorbikes going up to the resevoir.
Night time was extremely quiet and with dark skies the stars were amazing.
The area is very interesting with the Clwedog Resevoir just down the road and many walks directly from the site.
This is a Caravan Club CL and as such only provides electricity, water and emptying point but if, as we were, you are happy with that the you couldn't find a much nicer place.
Friendly gentle hosts, peaceful setting, good facilities (brand new loo and hot shower). Really liked this campsite. It’s small, not commercial set on a local farm.
Lovely location. Grass pitches and hard standing with hook ups if needed.
The owners were lovely and if you’re interested have one or two interesting tractors! We will definitely come back here. via mobile
What a brilliant little site, nestled in a valley south of Llanbrynmair. A small working farm, this site has a mixture of hard & grass pitches, EHU and water locations dotted around.
As a bonus it also has a very modern, extremely well-fitted separate shower room and a toilet cubicle, both with underfloor heating. The shower is free to use and the water is hot & plentiful.
The grounds of the site are very picturesque, the owner Gwenda and son Brychan work hard to keep everything in good shape, The location is ideally suited to walkers, you can pick up hill-walks directly from the site, straight up into the surrounding hills.
The area is a hunting ground for numerous red kites, so you will almost certainly have those gliding above as you climb. We've just had 3 glorious days walking from the site exploring the area. This would be a great site to stay at with friends during the winter period. Isolated, peaceful, but with the mod-cons if required.
Mobile. I could get a signal on the 3 network(enough to check FB/email. I would recommend downloading OS maps, if your reliant on a phone app for walking. TV is possible on the site, dependent on which pitch you select.
You can pick up FM radio, no DAB, but this actually enhances the site, we did lots of good reading, with the odd boxset thrown in. Overall an excellent few days, on a really lovely site, that's managed by good folk. A pleasure to visit.
Had a very nice one night stay on this small quiet, picturesque campsite which was beautifully maintained. There is a choice of hardstanding and grass pitches, all with electric hook up. The one toilet and one shower were both modern and spotlessly clean. It is a relaxed, family run site and both mum and son were helpful and pleasant to chat with. Although we didn't travel around the area we did find a short circular walk down to Pont Dolgadfan and back to the site which took advantage of a lovely autumn evening. Would definitely recommend and will visit again when next in the area.
First impressions, not good, arriving in rain! Grass soft and felt a little soggy. However, once set up the sun came out and what a difference. Beautiful location on a working farm. Slight slope to one end of the field but otherwise pretty level. Very relaxed attitude from owners with quite informal pitching, our daughter and son in law pitching right next to us. Nothing specifically for children as such and no gates to stop any escapees. Perfect for adults with babies/small toddlers (as we had our granddaughter 16 months) or just adults. Grass pitches with electric hook up. Toilet facilities are very nice, one toilet and one shower but ample for such a small site. Owners very pleasant and helpful. Small hard standing area for motor homes. Village just 2 miles away with pub and cafe, cafe complete with rabbit village, lovely for the kids. Lots to see within a 10 mile radius, reservoir, forest walks etc. Good walk from Dolgellau to Barmouth around 9 miles if you fancy a ride out and a walk. All in all a very relaxed break, a definite one to add to the return list.
