The site is a basic site with one toilet and one shower which we were clean. It reflects the very reasonable price of £15 with 16 amp ehu.
It has good sized pitches with hard standing so when you step out of your van you don't step into mud when it's been raining. It has good views as it is on the top of a hill.
The approach road is big enough for our 6. 5 metre camper van and has passing places.
The location is good for touring in the area, 5 miles from Barnstable and Bideford but you will need a car as the site is fairly remote for walking anywhere. We have electric bikes and we found it great for accessing The Tarka Trail, but I think it would be too hilly for ordinary bikes.
There are two local pubs in Fremington but again it's a 50 minute walk and probably 60 minutes back. Because of the location the site is very quiet.
It says on this site that it's a members only site [Camping and Caravanning Club] but I don't think it is, so no need to join.
When we were there we were the only ones and we enjoyed our stay and the cycling in the area.
