Excellent site, very quiet. All the facilities were spotless, always hot water, soap and hand drying available. The owners were about but didn't trouble anyone and in fact didn't collect their money until we were packing up to leave. The field we were on was sloping, chocks needed, other areas were flat and there were hardstandings available. The CDP was the best I have used, even better than club site CDP. My husband enjoyed the fishing. There is wi fi available on part of the site, there is trouble with signals on phones in the area and ee is about the only one that works. A really good site, would recommend it to anyone. Will be going again soon as we have family in the area.

Great location, close to Ross on Wye/ Hereford/ Ledbury/ Abergaveny/ Monmouth/ Symonds Yat etc etc ie Plenty of places to visit all within 20 miles maximum. The site is split into sections, the pitches near to the house appear to be ECU only. There's a smaller camping field also close to the farm and a larger field which is a bit closer to the A466 which is a main road between Hereford and Monmouth ie can be a little busy at peak times, but not a problem at night. We only saw one of the owners, who was helpful and very friendly. The site was very quiet when we went, in fact we were alone on the largest field. Facilities are really good, nice clean showers/toilets and a good wash up area complete with a freezer and (oddly) a kettle. There's plenty of info pamphlets on local attractions as well as useful guides and general information. The site also has two fishing lakes and there's some nice pubs (Garway Moon) and a good little local store just up the road at St Weonards. So a pretty location and a decent and well run site in a great location, we also saw a Barn Owl hunting for it's dinner most evenings, utterly delightful! What's not to like?

Just returned from a four night may bank holiday stay THUR-MON

We were met by Richard the owner on arrival shown to our pitch over looking the lake, where he explained and pointed out all the amenities, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least, by the views and tranquillity of the site although some children did arrive over the weekend with their parents , Who were well behaved (both)

The toilets and showers are the best and cleanest I have had the pleasure to use and as a ex gun bunny ive seen some sights in my time.

Just wish I had brought my fishing gear ! looked like the fishing was good.

Will definitely be going back very soon.

Stayed for 3 nights on a short break without the children looking for peace and quiet in good surroundings. Agree with the other reviews below re helpful staff, nicely kept facilities, free showers, clean loos, hot water for washing up, level pitches, good access etc. There are views of the countryside on one side of the campsite but they are masked slightly by hedges so I wouldn't really say it's a campsite 'with views' per se although if you're in the tent field you do see more. It is very green all the same and it is very quiet. In a caravan you can't hear the road but I would imagine in a tent you would still hear cars occasionally passing on the B road the site is situated on. If I'm being picky I'd say the HU pitches (two rows of 4) are fairly close to one another (enough room to put a car) but I'm sure there are probably far worse sites! The other caravanners here seem to be mature fishermen or walking types so very, very quiet.

Access is good to local towns and it was very easy to find/well signed. Tried food at the Red Lion pub (5+ mins away by car) midweek and it seemed popular without being overcrowded. Food was good quality, plentiful with reasonable prices and lovely staff.

Dog Info:

There's a large maize field you can let your dog off but no real walks directly from the site. We found ourselves driving and walking into or around towns. Hereford has a nice walk from the long stay car parks along the river into town where you can let dogs off safely (unless they like to swim!) There's a lovely dog friendly cafe Le Madeline in Hereford with very pretty courtyard garden and tea/coffee and cake for a fiver after 3pm mid week. In Monmouth we found a very reasonable dog friendly cafe called The Potting Shed. Cakes ok but china tea pots and sunny courtyard garden to relax in.

Overall we really do like the site but prefer something with more of a view for afternoon relaxing and more to do directly from the site so would come back to use as a central spot to cycle from but probably not with the children.

Just returned from 2 nights here. It is a lovely site - we were on the field overlooking the lake (no EHU) but very close to the modern. Clean toilet facilities.

Showers were lovely and warm - stools and shower mats were provided. Plenty of soap and hand dryer were also provided.

Having access to a kettle and a freezer was very handy.

Limited phone coverage from Vodaphone but those with Virgin and EE seemed to be fine. I was able to connect to the site wifi which was helpful.

Fire pits were provided but we didn't like the washing machine style one as the flames were all enclosed and didn't seem to put out as much heat. However, the next night we used the one created from a tractor wheel which was fabulous.

Would recommend this site to everyone. We used it as a base to visit Symonds Yat and Westons Cider Mill.

Have marked 6/10 for child friendliness, just because there isn't a designated play area, but there was plenty of room in the field for them to have a kickabout with the football and we saw others with a badminton net up.

Just stayed here for 5 nights. The site is perfect with a spotlessly clean toilet block and washing up area with a freezer and kettle. Plenty of tourist literature to help with activities and close to Ross, Monmouth and Hereford.

Richard the owner was helpful and really pleasant.

The site is well maintained and the fishing pools are excellent and fishing is half price if you are staying on the site so was excellent value.

The prices for camping were excellent and we will certainly be returning.

What a fantastic little site. Two of us stayed for 5 nights. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless. The washing up area is a little basic with one large sink but there is a freezer for those who need one. Mr and Mrs williams were very friendly and welcoming. A well stocked shop and post office in St. Weonards about 2 miles away and great food from The New Inn 3 miles away. We will return.

What a fantastic little place. Spotless facilities and a thoughtful kettle and tea / coffee by the wash up stand. Owners were friendly and helpful. Stayed with my 4 year old and his cousin and uncle In two tents. Can't wait to come back and try the fishing next time. No phone signal for 3 days on either Vodafone or O2. Bliss!

Some parts of the field are sloped but we managed ok and there were other areas available. A word of warning, the lakes are not fenced off so we set strict limits on the boys and they didn't stray from our field.

The open fire facilities are ingenious. You're given 3 bricks and a drum from a washing machine. Contains everything, you can cook on the top and gives out loads of heat.

Site was fantastic - good level site with EH, views from the van fantastic, amenities very clean. Richard and Gwen very accomodating. Fishing in the evening was great. Having a fire to finish off my night just made my holiday - local shops, required use of a car. 10 miles away is Hereford, 6 miles to Monmouth. Spent lots of time around the campsite walking and enjoying the free air. Very clear sky to watch stars!

Very quiet area, only cows or chickens for noise. Very rural but worth it to the peaceful camper. Three very large fields to fit in tents and tourers, campervans.

Great couple running the site.

Fantastic little site!

Stayed here for 2 nights in August. The site is a set in a farm, 3 small fields which are just right for what we where looking for. Mostly quiet, you can hear a little road noise but nothing too much. You can tell its a fairly new site, nice clean toilet/shower block with a nice size disabled/family room.

An honesty box is provided for eggs and fresh apple juice. A well stocked shop and post office is about 1 mile away, and if you get chance follow the signs for the cider shop (about 3 miles)as the stuff they produce is top notch.

There are 2 fishing lakes, lovely to walk around as the sun is setting, having spoken to a couple of fishermen they seemed very impressed with the fish they had caught.

If you are looking for a small site, away from it all this is the place. All in all, a little gem of a site.
