Booked in for a week, stayed for 13 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, due in part by our Belgian neighbours but that kind of chance friendship can't be booked! As previously stated, the owner/managers, Jocelyne and Pascal, are very helpful and friendly. Sanitaire block is kept spotlessly clean and is light and airy.
Jocelyne printed off a site map showing available pitches from which to choose for the duration of our stay, so we had a walk around on arrival. Some were a bit difficult to access for our outfit, but the one we chose turned out to be perfect with plenty of shade for which we were grateful as our days were hot. Note that reception is closed between 12 and 3 but there is space to park up and wait.
Wifi is charged but site coverage and speed was adequate for our needs. Mobile pizza van came on site once a week operated by a lovely, friendly couple and we bought one both weeks. Bread can be ordered from reception. Cucuron market set around the oblong 'bassin' in the centre is excellent for local produce and atmosphere. There's a wine cooperative outlet too. Large supermarket is about 15 minutes' away by car.
We had stayed in the Luberon previously and had visited Cucuron which is delightful. It was used as a location in the film 'A Good Year' starring Russell Crowe and Albert Finney - one of our all-time favourite movies. If you like wine, fine food (we pushed the boat out and dined at the Michelin 1* The Petite Maison which was my favourite meal of our 3-month holiday), pretty villages, lively markets, then this area may be for you too. Lourmarin has a large market and the town is quite stylish, chic and very Provencal.
There's not a great deal for children - a small play area, but no pool. My OH is a keen road cyclist so he did several long rides during our stay - thankfully Eric, our Belgian neighbour, became his bike buddy.
Definitely our type of site and if in the region again we would return.
My partner and I (no children) had a fantastic 7 nights here in July 2012.
The site is in open countryside but hidden from the road, approx 2km south of the village of Cucuron in the Petite Luberon. It is set amongst an olive grove (nicely shaded pitches) and on 3 sides there are vineyards and the site is a lovely very quiet spot.
The facilities were new and spotlessly clean (showers/british type wc's/sink privacy cubicles incl facilities for disabled)and the per night fee included 10amp electric hook-up. Our cost for 7 days was just less than 140 Euros. A complete bargain we thought especially with the exchange rate making this £105 for 7 nights. We booked online with a credit card before we went on holiday as we thought the site would be full but as it turned out (as with all other sites where we stayed) there were spaces available every night.
There is also a washing machine (tokens to buy from reception), dishwashing sinks and WiFi internet hours can be bought at reception.
The French couple who own and run the site speak a little English but the welcome and help we received were fantastic!
The nearest village of Cucuron was great for the local market (Tuesday) with a very good range of fruit veg and other produce and also had an evening market on Thursdays in July. The local people in the village were very friendly too. We enjoyed cycle rides from the site and the weather was amazing; 35 to 38 degrees and brilliant sunshine every day. It was hard not to fall in love with the site and this corner of Provence.
