Assisi was not on our original plan but it turned out to be well worth visiting. Loved the frescoes in the Basilica of St. Francis, hired an audio guide, and the town itself was delightful. Used the site mini-bus shuttle (charge payable) rather than take the car.
The site, however, could have been better, but as we were on ACSI discount was acceptable for the price. The pitches were not hedged or marked out, and accessed by steep curbs. They were not particularly flat or large, strewn with pine needles. Thankfully we did not need to put up the awning for such a short stay of 3 nights - there would not have been room.
An assortment of rather scruffy ready-erected tents looked as if they were well past their best and in need of a good clean or replacing.
Toilets/shower block clean and satisfactory. Loo paper available from a dispenser outside the cubicles.
There was an additional charge to use the swimming pool, so we boycotted that idea. Wifi was expensive, so we declined that also.
On the recommendation of a lovely family that pitched next to us, we had a day out at Gubbio which was well worth visiting.
In conclusion, loved Assisi, shame about the site.
