We stayed here for six nights in February. The site is located right on a beautiful lake, the owners are friendly and facilities reasonable. Unfortunately in February we found the graveled hard standing not to be hard and our campervan got stuck in the mud. Our only option was the small tarmacked area immediately outside the toilet block. Had there been other campers staying I wouldn't have wanted to pitch six feet from the loos, but we were all alone and didn't mind.

Lidl and a large Super U supermarket are walkable from the site. There's a pleasant 15 minute walk into the centre of the town and its castle.

It's a good base for exploring the Vendee, just be careful of soft ground even in the hard standing out of season.

We have now stayed at this campsite twice for a total period of 3 weeks. It is very peaceful and surrounded by lovely trees. The pitches are of good size and sectioned off with hedging. The lake is stunning at any time of year and only a 30 minute stroll to go all around it. There are 2 sanitary blocks which have good hot showers at any time and are kept very clean and basic. One block has a disabled toilet and separate disabled shower. There is wifi on site but because if the trees will only reach certain caravans near the entrance where the office is. The owners are English but speak very good French, and are very helpful. There is a quiet bar on site overlooking the lake, where you can have drinks and food. The town of Pouzauges is a couple of minutes away with all facilities and supermarkets etc.
