I stayed at this site some years ago, and as we fancied revisiting the town, decided to stay again.
We picked up the campsite signs in the town centre, and together with a town map, we found the site without too much difficulty. It is situated on the outskirts of the town, having passed through a slightly run down area, in a quiet wooded valley next to a small river. Next door to the site, across the river, is the local bouladrome and club.
The site is mostly flat with undivided pitches, there is a terraced area with no EHU so suitable for tents. The grass was nice and short, and there are trees around for shelter. There is a gate which is locked overnight. On the map of the site near the entrance, it indicates a children's play area which is through an arch in the hedge, but was just a small empty space with long grass. Down the far end of the site is a sanitary block, which looks as though it has been closed for years, and a large roped off area, not in use.
The warden was efficient if not particularly friendly, asked us to choose our own pitch. As I had been there before, she must have assumed I knew everything I needed to, which was correct.
The sanitary block in use near the entrance is very old, though clean enough, with showers and toilets on one side, and washbasins on the other with a modesty barrier. Washing up and laundry sinks here too, all under cover. The water was hot. There is a very quaint separate cabin for ladies, with 1 shower and 1 basin in separate cubicles, plus an extra basin and mirror. It's dark at night, you need a torch.
We cycled into the town along mainly dedicated cycle paths, took about 15 mins. The town has an interesting old centre and is worth a look round.
I did see in a review online that the site is to close, however that would be a shame.
The price was cheap.
