 I contacted the site by phone and sent our details and requirements by email. Having received confirmation of the booking I had to contact Mrs Thomas at the farm again due to the occurrence of a medical condition. The booking was moved by a week without problems. A few days before arrival I was given details and pitch number.
Arriving mid afternoon I pitched up & then went to the farm to pay. The couple, Mr & Mrs Thomas, are very friendly and helpful.
The site is accessed off to the left just at the right turn to the beach carpark at the end of the village. The narrow lane has a tight left bend and the entrance to the large camping field is over the cattle grid & through the gateway on the right about 100 metres along the lane.
The camping-field slopes gently upwards along the wall to the left where there are at least 6 pitches, all with electric connections and water taps. There are also more pitches on the opposite side of the field. The size of the grass field means there is plenty of room for children to play on too!
There are two well maintained toilets marked male and female and at the back of these is the the toilet cassette emptying point.
The two showers, electric, are down at the farm outbuildings, and again are well maintained and clean.
The views across the Artro River estuary towards Shell Island are lovely as are the views of the Rhinog mountain range.
There isn't a shop in the village, the nearest would be at Harlech, but there's a cafe at the beach car park, open through the summer. St Tanwg's chapel is at the end of the car park. The beach is excellent but dogs aren't permitted between April and September on the central section of beach, and our two enjoyed swimming in the riveratlow tide.
There is a station halt for trains north to Harlech, Porthmadog and Pwllheli, or south to Barmouth, Tywyn, Machynlleth, Shrewsbury and Birmingham. Trains are every 2 hours or so in both directions.
If you're looking for a quiet relaxing place to unwind, this is everything you could ask for.

Lovely short mown field with electric and water on every pitch but one. Toilets (1 gents, 1 ladies) and cdp just off the field, shower available at the farmhouse about 200 yards away(50p).
Mrs Thomas is Lovely, booked us in at short notice. Field slightly sloping so levellers needed for campervans.
Beach is only 200 yards away, beach cafe (didn't try it as was closed when we went past). Station 300 yards away to Barmouth or Porthmadog.
Harlech difficult to park and very tight roads and apart from castle little else there, Barmouth 10 miles away as is Porthmadog where you find Tesco, Aldi and Lidl.
Campervans £18, caravans £20 (both with electric).

Beautiful site surrounded by the Welsh mountains and views of the sea. Mrs Thomas is one of the nicest site owners we have met and our 4 kids always look forward to going there. The site is well kept, clean and tidy and in the years of going have never had any problems.
If you are looking for a peaceful break then this is for you but it will suit families whose kids love the beach as when the sun is out they are gorgeous with Harlech beach a short walk away.
