Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes.
We had been visiting Provins, a lovely medieval town, and this campsite was the next on our route south.
The campsite is situated on the edge of the town, next to the river and sports centre. It is a large flat campsite, seems to be made up of paddocks, one in the centre had horses in, then there were various statics dotted around.
The entrance has a low barrier plus another barrier less than 2. 0 metres, so the lady who came to reception had to unlock this to let our van through. The site at first appears to be rather run down, or maybe it's the 'natural' look. The grass was quite long, the ground not particularly well kept.
We were invited to choose our own pitch in an area marked on a map. We needed the map as the paths were quite confusing, and we got lost a couple of times cycling round. The touring paddocks had about 6 large undivided pitches, but many appeared to be full. The best we could find was a corner of an empty, rather scruffy paddock, where statics had been removed but the ground not seen to afterwards. Tall conifer hedge at the back, I saw a red squirrel playing there. The EHU post was not too far away, nor was a water tap.
The sanitary block was in the centre of this touring area, rather run down and not particularly clean. There were separate facilities for men and women, but many of the toilets were squats, and the men tended to use the ladies.
At the back of the site there is a gate to access the riverside walk, lots of dogs exercised here. We walked towards the town, there is still a small working port here, again rather run down. Town is small with a few shops on the main street, but a supermarket within an easy walk of the campsite. Also just outside the site is a Lido style swimming pool, on the riverside.
The price was moderately expensive for what we got, even out of season, so we would probably not use it again.
