Please note we have been advised that this site is now permanently closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches. If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

A very warm and friendly welcome from Toos and Wim to their small, peaceful site, close to Decize. The well-kept grass pitches are large and level with some shade. Simple facilities are kept spotlessly clean and the above ground swimming pool is meticulously tended and available in the afternoons.

The quiet, relatively remote, rural location is ideal for a restful break and the absence of light pollution provides mesmerising stargazing. The site is not adult only, but there are no facilities for children.

The general area is ideal for cycling and is close to the EuroVelo 6 route, the Nivernais Canal and the Canal Latéral à la Loire. We felt confident leaving our campervan on our pitch (by arrangement) for a few days during our stay while we cycle toured.

An excellent boulangerie is just over 2k away in the nearby village of Cossaye (try the brioche!), and supermarkets are a short drive or 30 minute cycle in Decize.

Nothing is too much trouble for Toos and Wim, who enjoy enabling others to unwind and connect with nature in their peaceful corner of Burgundy. We definitely hope to return.

FANTASTIC, QUIET, Extremely WELCOMING, AND "IT IS WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN". For "Covid-reasons" we had made a reservation (in stead of going to any small camping to pitch our tent wherever is place).

La Prise's attraction was the word 'mini-camping' and a location not too far from the Morvan.

Wim and Toos communicate easily and promptly; provided coordinates made it an easy find; place is lovely; toilets and washing place are clean and in good working order.

Owners take well care of their site which is rightfully their pride and joy.

We hope to come back!

When we arrived we were given a warm and friendly by Willem and his wife. This is a small site in a beautiful rural setting. It is perfect if you want peace and tranquillity and that personal touch. On settling in to our pitch a complimentary bottle of wine arrived! The pool was made ready and we began a relaxing stay.

The site comprises a paddock for pitches with an adjoining area with other accommodation including some new and beautifully appointed cabins.

The pool is a round 'above ground' circular pool which is not big but was perfect to cool off in.

The shower and toilet facilities were smart and clean.

We were on a 3500 mile journey around France and Spain during which we stayed at about 12 sites. Out of all of them it is this one that we enjoyed the most and which we have fondest memories of.

It doesn't have all the facilities of a big family site, but if it's a peaceful location you want with perfect hosts, this the place to go.

Great value for money also.

A fantastic little site if you enjoy peace and quiet. A very warm welcome from bill, his wife and their small dog bella. Pitches are very well spaced and free to pick on arrival. There is a small pool very welcomed in the hot weather, toilet and shower block is very very clean and equipped with all you need. A washing machine and washing up area is avalible also bill has built a wooden shelter if needed to be used for cyclists to cook food if the weather is not to good. Supermarket a short drive away. The homemade grape juice is fantastic.

We spent one night at La Prise in June, whilst travelling across France.

The site is small, but it's lovely. For us, the quieter the site, the better. We were the only people staying that night, and we absolutely loved it. The site was really peaceful, with no external road noise or anything else to disturb the tranquility.

Toos and Wim are really nice people, they could not have been more friendly, helpful and generous, and it's clear that they really enjoy running the site and meeting people.

The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean, and the whole site is well maintained, but has a very informal feel, which we like.

There is no shop or bar, or a children's' play area, but there is a pool.

We hope to stay again if we are in the area, and recommend the site to anyone looking for peace and quiet.

If, like us, you want a small site with peace and quiet, no activities, no bars or cafes, no children’s playground (but there is an overground pool to cool off) this is THE place. Whilst it is not actually adult only there is little here for young children so more likely to attract couples. The hosts, Toos and Wim (and Bella their little dog), are really lovely and absolute characters who cannot do enough for you. Access to the site is good (our unit is 7. 7 metres and no trouble) and Wim helps you when you arrive making sure you get water and hook up sorted. La Prise is in the countryside down lanes but Decize is only a short drive and has several stores and a good market a couple of days a week and a great Vet if you need to get your pet's passport stamped. Wim has built the toilet / shower block himself and the showers are absolutely excellent and whenever we went in they were absolutely spotless – couldn’t fault them. Free wifi is available and we had a good signal strength throughout our stay. The only thing that the site doesn’t have is chemical waste (hey Wim – maybe that’s your next project!) We love this sort of small, quiet, informal site and we will definitively return!
