Please note we have been advised that this the pods at this campsite at this location are no longer available. However the site offers camping, motorhome and caravanning pitches.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

We stayed for 4 nights before moving on for ABH weekend.
We've stayed in this area before, so did a couple of bike rides to familiar places, Southam and Long Itchington.
We ate at The Folly pub in Napton on the Hill, what a disappointment that pub was, beers off, no food only cold platters, that were awful shop bought stuff not even homemade, another couple from the site also complained about the pub. We also visited The 2 Boats at Long Itchington, it sits directly on the canal and the lunchtime food was great.
The Crown Inn at Stockton was a very good pub with great food, we had the pies on a Thursday night, large portions, very busy village pub, within a cycle ride away but we drove.
The site is on a marina on a main junction of the Grand union and Oxford canals. The towpaths are on the other side of the water, you cannot gain access to the towpaths unless you go out onto the busy A425 and up to the garage/pub crossroads and do a right, even then the towpaths are very narrow and overgrown.
The facilities were stunning, 3 shower rooms with your own toilet and sink and shave point, glass shower doors, so clean and new looking.
The camping field is behind a row of 5 wooden acorn shaped lodges, these were empty the whole time we were there. We had the only electric pitch.
Unfortunately the biggest problem we found was that behind our pitch (10) was the carpark for the marina residents, some of them who work would start their vehicles up from 5. 45am onwards, as a light sleeper this was annoying. A really noisy old diesel van was parked behind us, we put our car there so that we didn't get woke up by it the following morning, only to have the guy get arsey, ask us to move our car and then complain to management!
There were some picnic benches to sit on and watch the barges go by at the end of the marina.
We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't use again due to the access to canals, even to walk to nearest pub, which we didn't use as seemed to always be shut, meant using the A425 which doesn't have any paths.

I travelled up from Cornwall to view a boat at the marina.
Been able to stay the night was a massive plus.
I found Rosemary in reception to be very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Great dog walking area.
Shower, toilet facilities Great.
Was quiet and had a good night's sleep.
Would stay again. Thanks Mike.

Really nothing but good to say about this small campsite. It suited our needs perfectly. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the friendly welcome from the harbour master, who showed us to our pitch. This was nice and level and overlooked the marina from an elevated position.
The small touring area is shared by several small wooden camping pods. The whole area was level and well maintained.
The toilet and showering facilities were immaculate and there is an outdoor washing up area, which was nice to use in the good weather. We were a party that consisted of a motorhome and a campervan, a couple of the camping pods were in use as well but the site was really quiet in the evening and overnight. There is no direct access from the site to the towpath which keeps the site secure, but there is a nice stroll with picnic benches and tables provided on either side of the marina. Both of which lead to an interesting junction area from where to watch the narrowboats coming and going.
This may be a site that is designed mainly for narrowboats but the people we spoke to who both live and work there were really warm, friendly and welcoming towards the campers.
The pub in the local village was nice, but the walk to and from it, along the road and narrow verge was not, with fast moving traffic, I certainly would not recommend the walk after dark. We thought the site was handling the Covid 19 situation very well with ample signage and plentiful cleaning.
Importantly, everyone appeared to be adhering to the instructions and maintained social distancing. Difficult to judge child friendliness as we had none in our party and saw none during our stay.
We will return.

This appears to be an 'add on' to the main purpose of the site which is a marina for narrow boats. The camping field had 2 electric points. Pitches were very close together. A level field overlooking the marina, water and elsan points were some distance away on the marina. The showers were the best we have seen.
There is a pub a short walk away serving very good food and beer.
