Although the site is no longer part of the ACSI Card scheme, the low-season rate was under 18 Euros including 10 amps and free WiFi, which worked very well. Access is via the N10 (motorway quality, without tolls), exit to Ruffec, then turn right for Condac along a narrow lane for a mile. Reception is closed until 3 pm, with a barrier.
The campsite has deteriorated since our visit in 2017, now mainly statics, but we did find a firm place despite recent torrential rain. The facilities were unheated and in need of renovation but at least the water was hot. The bar by the entrance was open in the evening, though we didn't use it.
It was a short walk downhill to the canoe/kayak/cycle base on the swollen River Charente, where the base and the old watermill restaurant were both closed.
A footpath and official cycling route cross the river here, though the footbridge was closed, being almost underwater!
As keen cyclists we were impressed by the free-to-use cycle repair stand with tools, a pump and e-bike charging, and couldn't imagine such a thing existing unvandalised in the UK!
This is a nice site with good clean facilities, an excellent warm swimming pool, new gym with various exercise machines. The site is in the ACSI Scheme for cheap low season prices. At €10 per night including free wifi, it is a steal. At time of review all facilities were free and reception is friendly and English speaking if you need it. Open or shaded pitches. Wifi claimed at 80% but a bit optimistic and pretty slow but hey, it's free.
Nice park and restaurant 150 yards from gates and short bike or drive to town of Ruffec with Le Clerc and Lidl supermarkets.
Good marked out cycle routes on small rural roads with few hills. Close to N10 so good for overnight or longer stays.
