This is a beautifully kept smal site with excellent facilities and a very well renowned small restaurant. The Dutch owners, who of course speak excellent English, are friendly and helpful, and allowed us to pick some herbs from their garden for a new recipe we saw on BFM TV! Pitches are on terraces on a fairly steep hillside which looks a bit intimidating on arrival. We managed fine, though, and getting our 1600kg 7. 2m caravan onto sunny pitch half way up the hill was not a problem, but you need to keep your car on the concrete part of the road. Toilets and showers are very modern and needless to say, kept spotless.
Lacaune town has the usual services but is more of a working town than a tourist destination. We didn't visit the ham factory, but tours are available. Our intention had been to do some walking in the area, but we had to leave early because of a family problem back home. The countryside is a mixture of wooded hills, lakes (reservoirs) and open farmland, but is less mountainous than we had expected.
