 Very convenient situation to visit Falkirk Wheel the Kelpies and Callender House.
Quiet and owner/farmer welcoming.
Facilities need updating, hot water should be accessible in washing up area

Cost £105 for 3 nights which includes first £5 for electricity which is metered.
First the good:
Well located for visiting The Falkirk Wheel
Serviced pitches
Toilet and shower facilities.
Not good:
Site is all hard-core so looks like a car park
Toilet block needs updating
No toilet rolls in any of the gents toilet cubicles
No soap at the sinks.

Ian - campsite owner was helpful, engaging and multitasking farming duties.
Site open, gravel and lots of space.
Near to Wheel, lovely walk.
Stayed to attend concert at Helix, taxis were great knowing the campsite well.
Shower and toilet block basic but clean.
Will stay again as cycling has to be explored!

Easy entrance. Easy to park. Met by host Hoggi. Nice welcome chat. Pointed out local area and supplied map. Walk to wheel.
Showers n toilets easy reach. Grey water area and elsan chemical waste area. All in all a very good stay.

Just as we like sites to be. Falkirk wheel a short walk away. Lots of other walks around the estate.
The Kelpies a short bike ride away and other bike rides along the canal paths.
The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful and a ride around the paths with him in his horse and cart is something not to be missed, he even takes his guitar and sings as you go!

I chose this site because of its convenience to The Antonine Wall, which I wanted to explore.
I received a very warm welcome from Hoggi, the site owner, on arrival. The area for tents is a slightly sloping pasture field, so you do need to be a little selective as to where you pitch your tent, but it is all firm ground with splendid views.
The facilities are good, with 3 loos, 3 urinals and 2 showers for the gents. I assume similar for the ladies In addition, there is a kitchen area with 2 sinks for washing up, a kettle, microwave, washer and tumble drier. There is also an all important socket for charging mobile phones etc. There was plenty of hot water available.
I think it is important to point out that this is a working farm, so plenty of sheep, horses and cattle, and donkeys, are around.
All the facilities were spotlessly clean, with 2 blue boxes by the kitchen for recycling bottles and cans etc.
Perhaps not as well manicured as some sites I've been to, but certainly clean, comfortable and very welcoming. One I shall return to.

This was a last minute stop for us on our travels & it ticked all the boxes for our overnight stay. Very relaxed site, plenty of space to park & pitch, great facilities nearby inc clean toilets/shower area.
Also the location did not disappoint! The Falkirk Wheel is walking distance just down the canal, & we took a short drive out to the Kelpies too. Plenty of nice routes around the fields too & a great view point up the ‘ufo landing site’!
Was great to meet & chat with Hoggi, very laid back & informative - & was kind enough to give us a lift in the morning (ambitious parking from myself on soft ground😂).
Will definitely stay again next time we’re in the area!

Marked on the direction signs as 5 stars, which is a bit of a stretch. Everything we needed for a couple of safe and comfy nights near Falkirk.
Good points: EHU, seriously short 10 min walk to The Falkirk Wheel with its visitor centre and kids play areas (accessible after hours too). The owner was prompt with replying to emails, and a lovely guy.
Not so good: It has loos, a kitchen, and showers, yes, and all very clean. But they are all in freezing cold containers. Hot water comes from instant electric heaters. All stoned hardstanding. No grass, if you have an awning.
What might put you off: the drive up through the back of Bonnybridge. Messy, industrial, fly tipping. The approach from Falkirk is much nicer.
A park or play equipment for kids would be a great addition. We had what we needed here, amongst farmland above Falkirk. Quiet and safe. A good base for a day or two in the area.

The availability of the site owner, even out of the traditional high season, he was a phonecall away.
The site's facilities are spotlessly clean and there is a water standpipe at each placement.
There is of course, the electrical hookup as well.
The site is all hard standing.

We loved staying here, so peaceful and we had the company of the horses in the field in front of our tent most mornings and evenings, the view from our tent was just beautiful.
The host was nice and chatted when passing.
We used the site as a base to visit family who lived locally, it’s close to a lot of attractions and lovely walks too.
We will definitely use the site again when visiting family.
