A nice site, lots of facilities - playground, shop etc. Friendly, helpful staff. Wide but narrow beach on Lugano (coarse sand). Boat launching. Facilities clean and fairly up to date.
Various prices for pitches with 6amps or beside lake. Full price on these for ACSI card-holders, no discount or reductions. Most other pitches have only 3 amps, which was a problem for us, having selected a shady pitch. Many statics, well-kept.
Big restaurant also used by non-residents, including local rock concert one evening. Loud, but ended at 11. 00. Lovely area – drives into mountains; Lugano ; 25 mins. In car to Menaggio on Lake Como with its regular ferry boats. OK to go there by car, but not in a big camper. Buses from Porlezza town only, not from near the site. Walk into town 20-25 mins. With supermarket, restaurants and other small shops. ~Good Saturday market. Boat trips in main season. Nearby bike trail on old railway track to Menaggio, is apparently poorly sign-posted and some of route is on main road so maybe not good for children. Needs checking.
Approach from Lugano. Care needed as ever on lakeside roads with tunnels, but OK with caravan. Wouldn’t want to use road up from Menaggio with caravan. Check on Google Earth Street view.
Would use again if going to that area.
