A comfortable campsite, but it does have some drawbacks which I will get to.
Tents are placed in a level grassy area, motor homes located separately and caravans on the remaining area. Please note that it's one of those sites where your car has to be parked away from the tent I. E. On a Tarmac road/path, and not next to the tent.
Toilets and showers were fine. Lots of hot water in the basins, but a bit hit and miss in the showers - you either had cool or very hot water unless you were good at fixing the flow rate.
Washing up and laundry station was available - I didn't note the price of doing a wash as we don't wash clothes on a camping holiday.
The camp has a small restaurant/cafe where you can basic meals and beer, wine, coffees, but it's closed on Mondays which is an absolute nuisance as this appears to be closing day for every restaurant in Tubingen. Prepare for this by visiting a supermarket in advance, or end up eating a packet of crisps for dinner as we did.
The camp is advertised as 'next to the Necker river' but you won't see the river due to permanent static caravans, old and mouldy with no sign of life, except at the weekend when someone comes to cut the grass around these tatty things.
Tubingen itself is 1 and half kilometres away, so you need a form of transport unless you are prepared to do a boring walk through side streets. It's also a busy and difficult place to drive around, with long delays on the traffic lights and careless young cyclists crossing your path. We decided to cycle into town and did it within 10 minutes. It's a nice little place but more geared to student life than tourism or medieval back streets that are so enjoyable in many German towns.
The camp office isn't always manned - you have to ring a bell. The owner is a friendly chap, doesn't speak a lot of English but helps where he can with maps etc. ACSI card holders get 10% discount on the advertised prices.
We found this to be a quiet site, with mostly older couples. There's nothing much for children to do, apart from cycle up and down the paths or play in a small sandpit.
Wifi available but very slow. This place is fine for an overnight stay but there isn't much to see in the area and there are better places to stay in my opinion.
