 We have stayed at this campsite many times as a family unit and a couple.
We have children ranging from 10-22. There is always something to do around the site.
Walking down to boggle hole and across to Robin Hoods bay or simply tackling the long walk to Whitby.
It’s lovely to walk down to the YMCA at Boggle hole for a coffee or a fresh pulled pint. You can pull up and not use your car again if you please.
The campsite is ideal. We love the surroundings. Hearing the sheep. The cockerel and the seagulls.
Cath is amazing. Always there to offer help and guidance and knows just when to let you be.
The facilities are some of the nicest we have had, clean blocks of showers. Toilets and wash hand trough.
It’s lovely we can enjoy a bbq up off the ground and sit and listen to the nearby stream.
We would recommend this site but please don’t book when we want to go
As we don’t want to loose availability at our little ‘Gem’. 🤣.
Definitely recommend this one whether a family or just a couple wanting relaxation and chill.

PRO: Location - Stunning views
Quiet
Pristine clean site
Friendly staff
CON: Approach is very rough.
Main field landscaped with level pitches, otherwise both fields are set on a hill.
1 drinking water tap in middle of 1 field, separated from the other camping field, by hawthorne hedge. Said hedge also lengthens route to showers, toilets, snug and the external sink, /potwash? (Cold water only)
Childrens play area consisted of 2 low balance bars, swing ball set without the ball, Jenga and small sets for Noughts and crosses.

Beautifully clean but would not recommend for families and groups. This is advertised as a family friendly site however almost immediately after setting up our tents we had brought a Bluetooth speaker and put some music on (daytime) the owner who happened to be passing told us the music was too loud, it was not loud it could only be heard from nearby our pitches only. Nonetheless, we turned down and tried to enjoy the rest of our time there.
Kids were playing with a football and a cricket bat/tennis ball on the adjacent grass. The next day a sign goes up to keep off the grass due to ‘maintenance’.
The music was kept very low on the evening and then on the last day around lunchtime I think we turned up slightly didn’t think it would be a problem but again told to turn down - in a rude and patronising way. This was a Bluetooth speaker it wasn’t ’amplified music’ basically they don’t like you playing music or having fun of any kind on this site.
It’s clean and quiet and peaceful and if that’s what you want then perfect … but not for families with kids that want to enjoy themselves. Don’t want to be constantly telling the kids to be quiet or worried the music is too loud. Best to avoid.

An absolutely delightful site.
Set in the peaceful country side the site is well maintained and the facilities are clean and easy to access.
The owners are extremely friendly and helpful.

We loved this campsite. Situated in the countryside, hardly anyone else about.
The shower block was very cold but otherwise very clean and sufficient for a small site.
Owner was very friendly and helpful.
We either walked or used public transport.
Thankfully the weather was dry but a bitter breeze off the North Sea!
The buses were a challenge, with the summer timetable kicking the day we left. Often late, cancelled or they broke down.

A very neat and well kept site - owner friendly and helpful.
Access off the main road comes up very quickly and is not so well signed so be prepared. Gravel/ unmade track c. 3/4 mile down to the farm is uneven in places with some gradients so need to take it slowly but we found it easy enough navigate.
Level hardstanding pitches in splendid location with woodland on one side and fields on the other. Loo/showers within a barn so airy and with concrete floors but spotlessly clean - cost of showers £1 for 10 minutes was more than adequate.
Plenty of footpaths although be prepared for inclines and best with good boots - Boggle Hole YHA is down on the beach and has a very nice café that is open to all - it's a good 45 minutes walk though from the campsite.
The Cinder Track (30 minutes walk) is a former railway and then gives easier walking north to Robin Hoods Bay and south to Ravenscar (a good NT café at the end of the track).
Further afield it's not too far to Whitby or Scarborough (a good/regular bus service from the main road - 20/30 minutes walk up the hill) and the N Yorks Moors generally.
A lovely, quiet site - we'd visit again.

Loved the campsite. Beautiful location, very quiet, lovely snug to sit in and read the information folder, read books or play games. Showers good, plenty of space and hooks to hang clothes and towel.
Short walk to bus stop, even better the bus will drop you at the top of the lane.
Walks from the campsite to Robin Hoods Bay or Ravenscar. We didn't have a dog with us but if we had it would have loved the site.
Shame about only cold water for washing up and make sure you do it while it's still light.

Simply stunning site. Setting the standard for small family run sites.
The facilities are absolutely spotless, as is the site.
Simple booking and the veiws and bird calls in the morning are something els.
Drive is rutty in places, but it is worth it to be "off the beaten tracks" and away from traffic noise.

Very bumpy road down to site from main road.
Site very clean and well maintained.
We were the only people using the site so managed just about to get off the site by 10am as per the instructions, however if the site was busy I don't see how that would be possible with only two showers and two toilets, I think the departure time should be reviewed.
Also as the toilet block is unheated this is really a 2 - 3 season site unless you are hardier than us!

Secluded site situated along a gravel path with slight gradients. Care required on leaving site due to incline and loose gravel. Van did catch at rear on first hump.
Site itself has level gravel pitches, some smaller than others so ensure correct width when booking. No tv signal and tv room for dvd viewing.
Relaxing space. Showers at £1 for 10 mins, note time starts once coin inserted, so be quick! Sharing eases the pocket and cubicle is large enough to do this. Sink is a trough, so no fillable sink to shave.
Toilets fem, male are clean and spacious however, don't expect to read the Sun as light switch is on timer and outside stall so take a torch.
All in all, a lovely little site, need a car once walk to Robin Hoods Bay and Ravenscar completed.
Check out walk from Little Beck village hall to Fallingfoss waterfalls. 6/10
