I hate doing this, because I loved it quietness of this absolute gem of a place. But. ….
No caravans.
No motorhomes. (Sorry, you guys. )
No electricity. (Excellent!)
Stunningly beautiful and well kept, mown and flat. Dry and well drained; first rate showers and loos.
Very relaxed, go where you will, leave at anytime on your alloted day.
Wood for fires available cheaply and an abundance of raised firepans, and long wood benches.
A further field houses 3, 6 metre bell tents set up for glamping hire.
It lies adjacent to the lower reaches of the North Walsham and Dilham canal and Weavers Way, leading to the River Ant. Except it's a shallow, wild brisk stream at the campsite. Leading to the derelict lock at Honing. Thereafter lies miles of fabulous canoeing, which is why we were there in our own bell tent.
Returning the sites own launching point will soon prove irksome, if you are hiring from the site. Luckily, we bought our own canoe and could venture to other nearby launch points.
A stunning locality full of fish, grass snakes, Buzzards and Kites.
The showers are large with loads of dry changing room and work! They are hot, and run at a sensible pressure. The loos as well, are immaculate and large and comfortable. All are wood finished and it work so well
Outdoor cold water dishwashing, and a drinking water standpipe.
I'll just have to chose my times carefully ! 11/10!
