This is a popular site, and when we arrived there was a queue of 4 motor homes in front of us which had been waiting for the site to open at 2. 30pm. This site is very French and I think we were the only English on the site whilst we were there. Once you’ve booked in, the receptionist gives you a map showing the free pitches so you can choose where you pitch up. This site faces the sea, and adjacent to a small beach. We were able to get a pitch near the beach which we thought was absolutely perfect, with a view out to sea. You do need levelling chocs for this site though as many of the pitches aren’t flat, and there are pitches both in full sun and shade.
There are 2 fairly new, modern sanitation blocks, and one was open whilst we were there. It’s a mixed block, with everything in the same building; loos, showers, sinks, laundry (sinks & machines), and washing up, chemical loo waste point. Everything was kept clean. Toilet paper is provided in each cubicle, and the toilets are of the style which don’t have seats. There is also a hand dryer.
For supplies, there isn’t a shop on site, but there is a coast path walk (say 25 minutes) to an Intermarché. We had our bikes and cycled to the Intermarché along the marked cycle lanes on the road (probably around 10 minutes). You can also cycle to a SuperU further away, along a proper cycle path separated from the main road with a low fence. Whilst we were here in June we found it was nice and quiet for exploring by bicycle on the cycle lanes and quiet roads.
There is free WIFI around the reception area. One thing to note though is that although all sites have EHU points, they don’t all have taps so you have to hunt around for a tap. There is a camper van service point, however, to get fresh water you need a male to male connection – it’s not actually a tap, so we had to pull up alongside one of the taps near the road on site and use the screw on hose connection.
We really liked this site, and will return if we come to this area again.
