This was probably our favourite site in Norway. It is extremely well kept in a beautiful location overlooking the fjord - very good for swimming in as the weather was so good. Most of the pitches have hardstanding and are terraced so with very good views from almost every pitch. There is a little wooden decking area overhanging the fjord with seating to enjoy the view from.

The toilet block is extremely smart: cubicles containing toilet, shower, wash basin and plenty of room. There is also a very good indoor kitchen area with cooking facilities, tables/chairs and washing up sinks all overlooking the fjord. Also wooden tables outside. You can order bread from reception and buy ice creams etc but have to go into the town of Songdal (two miles) for a supermarket. There is also a motorhome services area.

We went for a walk outside the campsite and came across a couple of little sandy coves along the fjord. This site is also very handy for the ferry trip gudvangen to kaupanger. This is a three hour trip along the most beautiful fjords. We read about it in the tourist info on site and it was highly recommended by National Geographic so we decided to take this trip and very glad we did too - stunning scenery. We did not book the trip but just turned up for the next ferry (two or three a day in summer). The site was full every evening so arrive by late afternoon if you want to be sure of a spot. It really is a lovely site.
