 Very rustic farm location with a few free range chickens and quiet cows in the adjacent field. Mostly grass pitches with EHU at £20 a night online booking a little 'quirky'.
Was originally listed as a 'CL' with the Caravan Club but on site facilities are quite smart (just being newly erected in June 2026) and have 2 x WCs with 2 x showers (free at the moment) with a laundry room as well, so a very well-equipped CL.
Also has Wifi but I've not tried it as Three mobile signal fast enough.
Some pitches look a little tight with a few having mature trees overhead. Ideal for overnight stop as close to A74M J12/13.
Site owner said hello after a few mins arrival. Countryside views look great, more an adult site than for children I think.
A nice peaceful site.

During a long cycle tour recently, we stayed at many campsites. This was the most expensive and the very worst by some margin.
The location is convenient in several respects, and the outlook from the site is pleasant and peaceful.
It's a CL linked to the Caravan & Motorhome Club (although not exclusively so), and in our experience, this is generally an assurance of good quality. Not so here. I don't know the certification process, but would have thought that even a cursory inspection by the CAMC would render this as being of an unacceptable standard for such an association.
I understand that it is first and foremost a working farm. But it is also charging fees for hospitality too, and therefore needs to deliver acceptable facilities and 'service' in that regard.
We were charged £20 each, for separate single-man tents. Typically, throughout the tour we had paid £15 at most and often significantly less - for much better facilities. When we queried the price, the owner told us that he charges the same price for caravans, motorhomes and tents, even if they're being carried by non-motorised means. We've never experienced this before in many years of touring. He also told us that he'd 'turned away 5 motorhomes' to reserve space for our tiny tents in the corner of a field - which was almost certainly not true.
Access to the site is across a rough farm track. No real problem with that, but the area one arrives into is simply not cared for. It is an area of broken-down buildings with collapsing roofs, and is unclean and unkempt. It creates a negative impression from the very outset. The water-tap area in the corner of the yard was overrun with mould, algae and filth.
There are two separate rooms, each housing one shower and one toilet - and therefore space for one person at a time. Given the number of pitches available, this seems ridiculous. We had to queue to use either one, in the evening and again in the morning. They are formed internally of simple, untreated plywood walls, and were pretty shabby and dirty.
It seemed that there were a number of semi-permanent caravans and vehicles on the site.
We're not 'fussy' at all, and would always prefer clean simplicity over lavish or luxurious facilities. Unfortunately, this site provides unacceptably dirty and simply inadequate facilities, and has the hallmarks of providing 'easy money' for the farm - and at top-price (for backpackers or cyclists, at least) - without showing any care or consideration for the 'guest experience'. We will definitely avoid this place in the future, and would not have stayed had we not had such a long day in the saddle before arrival.

This campsite is a lovely small site with beautiful views.
We had 3 friendly chickens welcome us.
The lovely couple were very accommodating and because of this it took the pressure off me and I had a lovely htm competition with no pressure.

Quiet spot but easy to reach from motorway.
Stopped one night on way to Scotland.
Convenient for visiting New Lanark heritage site.
WC and shower in one room, not a good idea as toilet not available to anyone else if someone is having a shower.
£20 for one night seems a bit expensive for basically an EHU and a WC, but it was a holiday weekend and prices seem to have gone up a lot everywhere recently.

Nice and quiet, simple site situated on a working farm.
Pretty outlook, hot shower.
We enjoyed our stay and would visit again if passing that way.
Good communication from owners re booking.

Good for a stopover, don't let the ruins at the entrance put you off, the site is fine and has a loo and shower which we didn't use.
Friendly owner who points things out, takes your money (£15 is ok), then leaves you alone but is always around if needed.
There is a convenience store at Ringside (left and right from the site), Tesco and fuel at the next motorway junction going north.
New Lanark is nearby, but we only liked the Falls of Clyde. Did not realise that you have to book in advance.
Would use again if in the area

I'm not sure a November visit allowed me to see the place at it's best but the toilet/washroom facilities need improved (a hot tap and some form of heating would be nice). Less essential at other times of year I guess.
Can't comment on child friendliness as it was dark most of the time I was there.

First impression bit of a run down farmyard but the site itself was well cared for nearly mown grass.
The facilities although basic were spotlessly clean.
At £13 a night no cause for complaint and would certainly use it again if in the area

Pitch up where you like on site.
Toilets and shower could do with a freshen up. Child friendly.
Seems to be a lot of one night stops not a lot of people staying in area.

Used as an overnight stop as it was very convenient as not far from the M74.
The site was in nice countryside with flat pitches and a pleasant view from some pitches.
The facilities are clean.
