 What a welcome from Nic & Adam, and Willow & Fern, Beautiful well kept site cannot speak for toilets/showers as used our own, sunrise & sunsets are spectacular.
Views around are the same, wild life in abundance, deer, rabbits, foxes, along with Nic & Adams sheep chickens ducks etc.
Great walks from site Symonsbury Estate well worth a visit, Bridport Mkt Wed/Sat, with bus stop outside site(little walk from gate) or walk in.
We cannot wait to return so peaceful.

Really like this site and have visited several times.
Facilities well kept and always look forward to our cake on arrival a really nice touch.
The view to Colmar Hill it wonderful and the walk to Symondsbury worth doing as well, good pub and cafe and an unusual small garden to look round in the summer months.
Bridport is within walkable distance as well.

This is a lovely little adults only site. We loved watching the Jacobs sheep with their lambs while we were there.
There are only 2 bathrooms with toilet, shower and basin, but we didn't find that a problem as there are only 8 pitches and some vans had their own facilities. The facilities were kept spotlessly clean.
We appreciated the little shed where we collected our complementary homemade Dorset apple cake on arrival, and you could also buy emergency provisions by paying into the honesty box. However, we found that the photocopied bus timetables in there were out of date.
The bus websites were OK for routes, but not times. We found the only really reliable bus timetables were the ones displayed at the bus stops. There are bus stops a short walk from the site, but you can also walk into Bridport from there.
The nearby Ilchester Arms, just a short walk, serves excellent food. The menu is limited but it is top quality fresh food. It's a lovely old pub, very small so you need to book a table if you want to eat.
We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The only down side was noise from the nearby busy road.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at this wonderful site. I want to put this review out there so the site owners get the recognition for the wonderful work they have done to get the place up to the standard that it is. However I don't want to make it sound too nice because others will start using it and I might not be able to book again if it gets too busy/popular.
The majority of the work around the site on a daily basis is done by Nicky. She cuts the grass with a self propelled petrol push mower to cleans the toilets, feeds the ducks, chickens and sheep. The cake (which Nicky bakes herself) and cream on arrival is a really lovely touch.
Nicky is on site on a daily basis with her two dogs Willow and Fern. During our stay Adam was working with Nicky to check the small flock of Jacobs sheep that are due to lamb at any time. She is always happy to chat and is very knowledgeable about the local and surrounding areas and places to go and visit and things to do. The site is well placed to visit the local and wider Dorset area. With Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Dorchester and Bournemouth and a number of lovely beaches. All within easy reach by car or public transport with bus stops close to the site entrance.
The site is accessed via small gates that must be closed on entry and exit. It contains 8 double hardstanding pitches with a grassed area to the side, a water tap and a metered EHU point. Two toilets and showers with key coded access and a small information shed with a small fridge and freezers as well as selling some essential items paid for by using the honesty box. Behind the toilets is an elsan point, recycling bins, grey waste disposal and a small pot wash area. Some have mentioned the pitch sizes. Our caravan is just over 23 ft and fitted on the pitch with our sun canopy with space to sit on the grass as well. We parked the car on the front edge.
Yes the site is just off the very busy A35 main road to Dorchester/Weymouth. However this did not bother us at all. The view from our pitch was much more attractive with views over the countryside and fields that contained the ducks, chicken, sheep, horses and a couple of roe deer in the top field as well as watching the people walking up and down Colmer's Hill on a daily basis.
Well done to Nick & Adam, a site well worth a visit and we will definitely be returning when we visit the area again.

Luvly, clean, attractive and well spaced pitches.
Toilets and showers clean and tidy.
Short walk or bus ride into Bridport.
Pleasant owner.
Only stayed one night but will return.

Stayed at Ernie’s Plot again as it has to be one of the best sites in this part of the country.
Pitches are large, nicely spaced out from your neighbour so you’re not intruding on each other and a view out over the fields with the hills of Dorset in the background.
The toilets and showers are spotless with Nic and Adam the owners cleaning them at least twice a day.
Each pitch has its own water and a meter fo pay for your electricity, we used £9 in 7 days that was with the fridge on permanently, the kettle, microwave and tv used also on a daily basis.
Nic and Adam have time to have a chat with you and offer advice on places to visit during your stay.
Bridport is a pleasant 20 minutes walk into town or a 5 minute drive with plenty of car parking available and 5 Motorhome bays in the bus station car park.
Buses are cheap and run on time and for a couple of pounds you can explore the Dorset coast from Lyme Regis and Axminster to Weymouth and beyond all caught from a bus stop a couple of hundred yards from the site entrance.
If you fancy a drink and a bite to eat the Illchester Arms by the Symondsbury estate offers great beer and wine and top quality home cooked dinners(Sunday roasts are amazing) but be sure to book a table.
Without a doubt a great site with only 8 pitches, we will return

We really like this site hence this was our third visit. Bridport is walkable, around 40 mins.
Nice walk up to Symondsbury where there are walks up to Colmar Hill and further.
Good pub in Symondsbury and some interesting shops and cafe in the estate buildings.
Site itself is all hardstandings so no problems whatever the time of year or weather.
Facilities on site clean and although there is a 50p charge for the shower it lasts much longer than either of us needed.
We will definitely visit again.
Electricity is either a set fee or metered.

Fantastic CL with good views including that of the owner's Jacob Sheep.
2 spotlessly clean bathrooms with toilet handbasin and shower.
Reasonably priced per night as the on pitch electric is metered so could be expensive on chilly nights.
Owner is very hard working and wling to please with two lovely doggies, Willow and Fern.
Slight noise from the nearby very busy A35 but got used to this after a day or two.
I think what we enjoyed the most from this site
Within a 20 min walk you could get on a bus to take you via Bridport to Axminster or Weymouth or anywhere between including West Bay (highly recommended) and also a 15 minute walk to the local Ilchester Arms,
All in all a great weeks holiday, we would love to return.

Just got home from an amazing 4 night stay at Ernies Plot near Bridport,
The pitches are enormous and the owners Nicola and Adam are such welcoming people, along with their two little doggies Willow and Fern.
The facilities are spotless and even though you have to pay by meter for your electric it is far from expensive, we calculated that we spent less than £2 per day add 50p for your shower and it is a bargain.
The views are amazing and every pitch has a clear outlook of them, the chickens, ducks and sheep add to it's charm.
There is some noise from the road but you can't have a site that is easy to get to without it being by a road, on saying that we didn't find it annoying, just seemed to blend into the background as you sat and gazed at the view of Colmer Hill.
Will definitely be going back there to stay as it it so handy for beaches and the towns.

Lovely site with stunning views.
Pitches are a good size, all with hardstanding and grass.
The facilities were kept very clean during our visit.
Nice little shop with a few essentials available on site, also some information about local places.
Great walks directly from the site and an easy walk into Bridport town centre as well.
Will definitely be returning here.
