An excellent campsite situated by the side of the River Main. The site is fully grassed and has some seasonal pitches, some full service pitches, some riverside pitches and some ordinary 100 square metered pitches. In typical continental style the pitches are in a strip of about 6 per strip with hedges separating the various strips, so units back onto each other but separated by the hedge. The vast majority are flat with some being mildly sloping. Various trees provide shelter. There is a first class sanitary block which is raised as the river does occasionally flood. This block provides excellent showers, operated by tokens costing 0. 50 cents and these tokens are provided by a machine outside the shower rooms. There is an excellent disabled room. This can be accessed by using a special lift to get anyone in a wheelchair to the first floor. See the reception for details. When the block is closed for cleaning campers can use the toilet facilities by reception and the old shower block is also opened in high season. Electric is included in the daily price and there are special deals outside of high season. Connection is by modern CEE blue pin plug. There is a good M/H emptying point. The reception sells basic provisions and there is a small bar area.
The site is well situated for accessing the very pleasant and pretty small town of Volkach, a mere 800 metres away. There are plenty of eating possibilities and several supermarkets all within the town boundary. There are numerous bike routes in the area, some starting from outside the campsite. Boat launching facilities and river swimming are also available. The area is renowned for its wine and there are vineyards right outside the site. A swimming pool and sports facility are within 400 metres.
All in all an excellent place to spend a week, with Wolfsburg within easy reach and the autobahns within 6 miles.
