If you like small, CL-type sites you will like this. The site is on a working farm in a rural location close to, but not bordering, a series of lakes/reservoirs to the SE of Troyes. There is an excellent sanititaires block but at night the timing system for the lights is is very mean - 2 or 3 minutes at a time. Take a torch! Arriving at the site, out of season anyway, is on an help-yourself basis, but the owner is usually available if you ring the bell by the sanitaires. She is very pleasant and helpful (we had a problem with our electrics caused by a faulty kettle and she was very patient when we blew the whole site electrics twice!) but she firmly believed our French was as good as hers'! I wish! Be aware that some pitches may be a long way from one of the rather scarce bollards.
We visited Troyes on one of our days and found that the old town exceeded our expectations (though the surrounding modern town was not pretty). We went on a Sunday, so although most shops were closed (a bonus point for me!) parking was free (another bonus). As always there are inumerable enticing bars and restaurants. We were very pleased with our choice of the Chez Felix on the Ruelle des Chats - the garden courtyard at the rear is a very tranquil shady spot on hot day.
Another day we did a cycle ride along the lake/reservoir, parking near Lusigny. We were rather disappointed that the trail did not exactly run along the waterside, but a little bit inland in woodland. There are certainly more beautiful lakes in other parts of Europe, but this a personal observation.
The village of Lusigny has a superb boulangerie/patisserie, and a small supermarket. There is a bigger l'Eclerc at the juction with the D19.
