A well hidden gem that you wouldn't realise was there despite being off a main road through a village. Lots of space per pitch, particularly for those with a hookup.
We stayed for 5 nights, suits both long stays and 'pit stop' stays en route elsewhere.
You don't notice the road noise, and being on the flightpath isn't really an issue if you are aware it's there.
Facilities were lovely, even though only two shower/toilet combos (they were almost hotel quality with posh handwash!) Availability of these wasn't a problem, but if all 30 pitches were in use it may be.
The site would benefit from a light over the outdoor pot wash area so washing up can be done at night.
Well kept grounds with young fruit trees scattered around and a picturesque pond and stream. We didn't see the owners on site, (they run one of the local pubs so ventured there to pay them) Bins were emptied and showers cleaned down though so they must be ninjas in the night!
Rates were not inflated due to the pandemic like some sites, £22 pn inc hookup.
1 mile walk to plentiful restaurants and takeaway, and not far from the motorways.
Would happily recommend the site.

Great little site - very convenient to A50/M1, castle Donington and East Midlands Airport.
Despite being so near to all of the above, we didn't hear excess noise and the site is in a lovely little village, which has a friendly local pub. You do feel as if you are miles out in the countryside rather than so close to all the things mentioned above.
The site itself is pristine. The shower facilities are more like those found in a hotel. A previous review did mention there could be a problem if both shower rooms were in use you could have to wait to go to the toilet as they are in the rooms - luckily this wasn't an issue for us, but would possibly be an issue if the site was full.
Very pretty surroundings with a large pond and orchard - the site owner was very friendly - we will definitely be back.

A lovely little site, very pleasant owner met us on arrival. Toilet and shower facilities absolutely spot on.
Short walk or drive to castle Donnington for shops and pubs.
Narrow lane on approach to site location and through the village of Hemmington, but managed with unit with care.

A tale of 2 sites. Beautiful site and extremely modern, clean toilets. However, on the practical side the showers are in the toilets (there are only 2 cubicles), meaning you often have a long wait just to use the loo if someone is using the shower. During our stay both toilets stopped flushing and we had to rely on filling a bucket from the washing up sink.
There is only cold water available for washing dishes and just the one sink.
We found the description of a quiet, peaceful site to be misleading. It's right on an A road so you do get passing traffic noise, but with the airport being so close (much closer as the crow flies) from 5am until 12. 30pm we were kept awake with the noise of the planes.

Idyllic spot on the edge of a pretty village with one community pub, only a short walk from the much busier castle Donington, with shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. The river running through the bottom of the site is absolutely beautiful but all that water meant we were savaged by mosquitoes on arrival. They seemed to disappear after that, though.
You aren't really in the heart of the countryside - the road, airport and race track are all audible but not enough to cause any bother. And river/canal walks are just a short drive away.
There are two beautifully appointed bathrooms: proper shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin (double in one). We worried that having the only toilets in these rooms might cause problems if caught short while the showers were in use but there were so many people in caravans and motorhomes with their own facilities it wasn't a problem.
The entrance is completely unmarked so tricky to find unless you have clear instructions (and caravans must need to approach from the south or it's a very sharp turn). You get these when you phone before arriving but that relies on the phone being answered! It wasn't when we tried but we were lucky enough to find and follow someone else going in. You then need to find the friendly owner (no phone reception so walk down to the big house).
We got washed out by rain (the level pitches at the top get waterlogged) and had to leave a day early but we will be back.

I don't really do reviews, this site will be a right little cracker, the only problem I had was getting off but that is nothing to do with the site really the 2 days of rain had a lot to do with it, I'm sure the owner will see this maybe as a problem and put a road in.
As for the airport never bothered us and Donnington raceway if you listen very hard you can here it. Nice little walk to the local pub small and dog friendly but no food to be fair is sometimes a blessing with dogs.
The facilities are excellent. Cant wait to see what happens with the outbuilding that is still being worked on. As this is there first year I'm sure it will be a 7 star site when finished.
Will be back soon its a great little bolt hole for the weekend

Made a last minute booking here and the owners could not have been more accommodating. The site is a quiet adult only site shielded from the adjacent road by a large hedge and gated at both ends. There are a mixture of grass and hard standing pitces with and without electric hook up. The site is sloping but the pitches are terraced and flat.
The site is very tranquil but less than five minutes down the road the local pub serves a variety of real ales in a friendly atmosphere. A little further walk takes you into castle Donnington with various eateries and shops.
The toilet/shower rooms are more luxurious than those found in some hotels and stocked with those little items you may forget plus products to clean up after your visit. This is a small site that the owners are developing with a keen eye for detail and quality.
Some may moan about the odd plane noise from East Midlands Airport which is close by but it never bothered us either day or night. Unusually electricity is provided on a pay as you use card with any excess left on the card being happily refunded on departure.
All in all this is a cracking little camp site and we will certainly be returning again.
