Not a very good site for tourers at the eye watering (we thought) price of €30 per night. A mainly static site with a small area hidden in the dunes for tourers and tents, no views although the lovely beach is close by, an easy walk to it. Facilities which have not been updated since the site was first built 40 years ago by the look of them and the CWD is a disgrace.
There is also a steep slope down to the area which needs care.
Easy enough to find once you are at Narin, but come in from Glenties, not from Ardara, the road is terrible! Turn right by the pub, down to the café and you will see "caravans" signed on the road.
Customer service is distinctly lacking, go to the café and pay, then you are left to your own devices.
Nothing seems to be open during the week in May, the pub at Narin and at Rosbeg only in the evening, you will need to go to Ardara to eat. There is food and fuel to be found on the road to Ardara, you will see it on the way to the town. Otherwise there is a food shop "Morgans" on the way to Rosbeg.
There is a site called Tramore at Rosbeg, probably the same price, nicer, but they don't allow dogs.
The good points - the area is stunning, wonderful beaches, clear blue sea, mountains, geology and most of the locals are lovely people. We went to meet up with OH's sister (they come from Rosbeg) and she loved it too. BIL not so much "where are the towns?" he said. You don't go to Donegal for that! It would also be a useful stop on the Wild Atlantic Way.
