 We loved the position of this site, as someone else mentioned, you get to watch the ferries, cruise liners (😱) and fishing boats come in and out of Kirkwall. It was amazingly windy while we were there, which is not unusual for Orkney!
The facilities look new and are kept really clean and lots of hot water. In the showers you have plenty of space for your stuff so it doesn’t get wet. Washing machine and dryer very good.
Pitches are mainly hardstanding and level, there is some grass for tents to pitch. Quiet site.
There was a big board with your name and pitch number so easy to access if warden was out.
We walked into Kirkwall and it takes about 30 minutes. Nice walk and nice town with a variety of shops and harbour.
A recommended site. Don’t think it would be good for kids as no space for them to play.

Brilliant site, great location with views over Kirkwall Bay, a great place to watch the comings and goings of the ferries and cruise liners. Lovely sunsets whist we were there as well.
This must be one of the best campsites we have ever stayed on. The hard standings are perfectly level, there is a water tap and ehu between every two pitches.
The grass we well cut, and most importantly gathered up during cutting. The facilities block is very good and scrupulously clean.
Even the long entrance road (private belonging to the site) is built to a very high standard. All of the signage is professional, I can only describe the site as being built to a civil engineering standard, it is all top quality. The grey and black waste disposal are well made and well maintained.
The site office is open during the day if you have any questions there is someone there to help. The staff were friendly and helpful and welcoming.
All in all a great experience. Thanks.

Loved this site, despite being open nearly 5 years everything still looks brand new and really well cared for.
Exceptionally clean facilities, really helpful and welcoming owner and warden.
Showers are push button but set for a reasonable time, water hot and plentiful.
Pitches are mainly hardstanding, a few grass. Someone previously mentioned pitch 17 - it's no longer in use.
When you book you online you get a text response with your pitch number and facilities code - however someone was in reception til after 6pm each evening.
Took us about 30 minutes to walk into Kirkwall - plenty of touristy shops, Tesco, Lidl and numerous pubs and restaurants.
It's a site would highly recommend and would use again for sure.

Nice clean site. Peaceful location.
It is a fair walk into centre but nothing that would case concern.
Kirkwall and Orkney are fabulous places to visit on Holiday.
Pipe band played and marched to. Broad St. Music and singing in Cathedral was very moving.

Brilliant site. Spacious pitches. Great for dog walking.
Spotless showers and toilets dishwashing and laundrette
Great pitches with sea views. Slipway.
Beautiful sunsets. Super warden.
20 minute walk into Kirkwall town.
Highly recommend.

The chemical toilet disposal area clean and easy to use, toilet block spotless.

Easy to follow directions from both ferry terminals.
The campsite faces out to sea so there is plenty to watch with ferries and liners coming and going.
The pitches are well spaced out and Large, with water on each electric post.
The facilities are excellent and kept spotlessly clean by the owners who are very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend a stay on this campsite.
We will be back!

This site is in a great location - it was sooo windy when we were there but also amazingly sunny!
We drove to the Ring of Brodgar in the evening and there was no one there, just us and the curlews in the wonderful blue sky.
The site is close by the town and is well situated.

Fantastic new site with peaceful situation & sea views.
Level pitches with good space around each. Own water tap & electric points.
Spotless shower unit. Helpful managers/owners. Washing machines not on site but easily available at a launderette in town ( opens at 10am).
Taxi to town centre for around £6. 50 if you don't want to drive in. Delightful four days here.
