I’ll preface this review by saying we really enjoyed our time here. The hosts are friendly as are the two farm dogs. There is a fridge freezer for campers to use and a charging point for electrical devices.

From the site it’s easy access to many points of interest of which the Diss Friday Market isn’t one of them. 100 Bomber Group Memorial is a defo place to visit and takes a good half a day to see. Run by volunteers to a professional standard and no entrance fee.

Just 5 minutes drive away is Goodies Farm Shop and restaurant. We went there once for breakfast which was delicious and big. That afternoon we fell into food stupor! We got the majority of our BBQ meat from Goodies and bottle beer and cider.

You cannot park in your pitch, there is a car park and two wheel barrows to use to get your kit to your pitch. It’s only a short distance and not an inconvenience.

We stayed here for 7 nights in May. I was on the Daffodil pitch and my mate had the Daisy pitch.

There are 8 camping pitches on a flat field. Each pitch is designated by a sign and a mown short, circular camping area. The borders of which the grass is left to grow longer. We had fantastic weather during our time here so I cannot attest to the field draining.

Each pitch has its own composting toilet. The toilets don’t have soap and water but each has a bottle of hand sanitiser fluid. This seems to work and I wasn’t plagued by flies or odour. There are two shower units of a wood and corrugated metal construction. There is plenty of through ventilation! Which is aided by the roof not covering the whole of the shower unit. How this works when it rains we didn’t get to test but when the wind blew you didn’t hang about in the shower. The showers had plenty of hot water on demand and you didn’t have to keep pushing a button to get the water to flow. There were plenty of useful hooks and a mirror in the clean shower unit.

There is a washing up area which has some cover from the elements and the two sinks are supplied with warm water from a on demand gas boiler. You are provided with free washing up liquid and scourers.

Noise. There is traffic noise. The site is located on a cross roads of lanes which carries moderate traffic. Early in the morning you’ll get seasonal farm traffic (to be expected), aggregate HGVs which might be linked to the bypass being built nearby and normal car traffic. This noise never bothered us and the bird song totally made up for all the other noise.

The owners have very subtle lighting for the toilets so there’s no light pollution. So you can watch the bats and as it gets darker star watch. Each pitch has a fire pit which is dug into the ground and lined with bricks. This works well and we had a fire most nights. We were lucky that of the 7 nights we had company from other campers only on 2 of them.

It’s up to you to decide whether the location, facilities and ambience matches the daily charge.

This is a wonderful campsite. The facilities are eco-friendly and therefore basic but beautifully done. The private composting toilet didn't smell and was easy to use.

I've never been given such a large pitch (it was almost the size of a football pitch!)

The owners were friendly and recommended a route for dog walking and were careful to ensure I got back safely.

I wish that I could have stayed for more than one night!
