Stop off on Hadrians Wall National Trail of which it was directly onto so no mileage added stopping here which was ideal.

The Pub staff were great and showed us to the field in which we were to camp. The field itself was small and had long grass which a path and pitches for about 10-12 backpacking tents.

There was a cold water tap in the field too which was handy and we had use of the toilets in the pub during open hours.

A shower was also available in the pub for £5 each which was needed by ourselves. We were shown to the shower and gave a towel by the staff.

The food looked amazing and the overall look of the Robin Hood was fantastic. I would definitely consider returning just for a meal if we were more local.

This is also a location of an official Hadrians Wall Passport Stamp.

Although it may score low in aspects such as services and child friendliness I have scored it a 10/10 for it being exactly what it was set up for which is nearly wild camping directly on Hadrians Wall path.

I stayed here on my final night whilst backpacking across Hadrian's wall. It's very convenient being right next to the path.

The pub staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating in arranging a suitable table for me inside the pub to watch the Euro Semi Finals in the eve at short notice!

The pub food is also of an excellent standard!

Their website states this is a basic campsite with no facilities. If you can cope without a shower for one night, and don't mind using the loos in the pub then this is an excellent spot.

Furthermore there is an outside drinking-water tap on the camping field.
