 We recently enjoyed a lovely weekend at Commonwood Fishery and Campsite in our motorhome and found it to be a fantastic spot.
The spacious pitches were well-maintained and offered plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the outdoor space. We were especially happy to be near the canal-style lake, Gelert, as it made for convenient fishing right outside our van. Catching a few Carp, including a couple of Mirror Carp.
Beyond the fishing, the site's atmosphere was generally peaceful and relaxing. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The Acorn Cafe, Pizzeria and Bar breakfast and lunch options were delicious and reasonably priced. The on-site bar also offered a nice place to unwind.
The swimming lake provided an opportunity for paddleboarding, which we enjoyed too.
The location near Wrexham is within reasonable driving distance to local attractions and amenities. We found it to be a convenient base for exploring the area.
