Municipal on the edge of town, very quiet at this time of year, only 5-6 units on each night. Reception open 9-12 and 3-7.
Pitches either with hedges between on one side of site or more open on other side. In all areas grass was long, too long especially on damp mornings. View to Chateau from hedged pitches - just.
Facilities block fairly modern. Washer / dryer and hand-wash with plenty of hot water. They close either ladies or mens side daily. Fine, except mens toilets have urinals directly outside. With several mens longstayees on site a bit awkward.
Its about 10 minutes walk to Chateau ask campsite for a discount bracelet (also gives free entry to swimming pool next door). You can pay to go in Chateau or a lesser rate just to walk the beautiful gardens.
Village has a few shops, boulanger, bars, cafes and both a Lidl and a large Intermarche.
There are two small restaurant just outside the site, although we didn't use they looked popular.
Its a good site but shows the effects of a long summer. Needs some tidying, cleaning and a bit of care and would be a great place to stay.
Have been planning to come here for a while due to its handy location and proximity to the chateau. Sadly you can’t see it from the site, only a factory across the river !
However, it’s just a couple of minutes walk into the town which has aboulangerie, a few shops and bars plus a couple of restaurants as well as the stunning chateau.
The site itself is quite large and has a number of statics and pre-pitched tents; we decided to stay at the last minute and there was plenty of availability in early July.
Pitches are large, flat and divided by hedges - we were able to choose one with lots of shade.
The unisex sanitaires in the centre are fairly new, very clean and I had a great shower. Loo paper, soap and dryers are provided!
There’s some play equipment and free admission to the municipal pool next door which has water slides etc.
There were also posters advertising live music etc in the adjacent park later in the summer, and there’s apparently a snack bar on the edge of the site.
It looks like the mairie is investing in the whole area - plans show a new ‘club room’ proposed for the site.
We were very impressed- we’d certainly use it again and there’s lots to do in the area, so it would be good for a longer stay. We paid €14.50 inc ehu
