 Lovely rural campsite on a working farm with glorious views with Pen-y-Fan in the distance.
Located a few minutes drive from Hay-on-Wye and Talgarth with Brecon just a bit further it makes a great base for visiting the area.
Friendly owner. Dog friendly too.
Minimal facilities but that didn’t make any difference to us, just adds to the rural feel.

Ideally situated for the Hay Festival but I'd even return when that isn't on as it's a beautiful area.
Our host was very friendly and was happy to steer us in the right direction when we phoned (having taken one wrong turn). We had a great chat with him on our first evening.
Lovely and quiet with gorgeous surroundings. We were self-contained but there's water available and we had the choice of where to set up camp.
I get the impression there are other facilities to come but we didn't need any so I've rated it 8/10. It was 10/10 for us personally.
If we had taken our bikes it would have been an even more convenient location as I think we'd have been able to leave the van and just use bikes for the ride into town. That, of course, depends on fitness as it's uphill on the way back :D
The town of Hay-on-Wye is full of great cafes and independent shops - many, obviously, book shops but a range of others besides. Plenty of places to explore, including lovely river walks.
The canoeing looked good and I'd like to do that in future.
We only stayed two nights but I'm impressed and will be back in the future. Not rated child friendliness as we didn't take any with us.

Beautiful quiet campsite with amazing views of The Black Mountains.
Very friendly and helpful owner.
Hay on Wye close by. Pub in walking distance. Lots of lovely walks.
