 We were welcomed on arrival and shown where everything is, i. E. Shower, toilet and washing area and bins.
The site is quietly tucked out the way but close enough to take a walk across the field to the shop or a quick drive into Dalton where there's plenty of shops etc.
There was shade from the sun under the trees which was welcoming in the heat.
Showers are hot and plenty of drinking water taps available.
I would definitely recommend this lovely site.

Really good site. We had a very enjoyable week. Close to Ulverston and Barrow in Furness.
The showers were good and bathrooms clean. Jean was very nice and very helpful. There’s a lovely little library on site that the kids enjoyed.
You can faintly hear the Howler Monkeys from the nearby zoo.
Great little woodland area for building dens and collecting firewood for the fire pits that are provided.
Will definitely return to this site.

Quiet and peaceful site.
Owner very friendly.
The two showers and two loos are very clean.
Paths can be muddy so be sure to take the right footwear.
Loos could do with paper towels.

Loved the site, secluded and quiet,
Some more hooks in toilets for coat etc would be helpful as on cold mornings there’s nowhere to hang coat, towel and toilet bag while in toilet before shower

Fisherground Campsite - Eskdale
Nestling in the beautiful Eskdale Valley close to Scafell, England's highest mountain and Wastwater, this site is a children's paradise in the heart of the Lake District. The first thing that meets you on arrival is the pond, fed by a stream and usually full of children paddling and playing on tyre rafts. The playground has zip wires, climbing frames, tyre rope-swings and adventure courses.
Grass pitches (some with EHU) for tents, motorhomes, VW-sized campervans (no caravans). Refurbished toilets, showers and laundry. Peace is the watchword on the campsite - catering mainly for families and couples with silence after 10.30pm. Don't forget your marshmallows - campfires are allowed in selected areas. Nearby shop and pub. And there's an added extra: the site sits along the route of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway line, with it's own station. Choo Choo! Find out more here

Located near pub and wildlife park.
Secluded and quiet.
Friendly owner and suitably equipped with electric hookups available.
Some hard standing or grass pitches.
Clean toilet and hot shower.
We will be back soon.
