 Showed up as a single bike-packer unannounced, only to find a note saying:"This campsite has been fully booked for an event". After I entered the campsite to check if there was any way my tiny tent and my bike would fit anywhere on the campsite, the campsite lady was the most accommodating person I've met on my trip.
If you don't mind loud motorbikes find yourself a spot and camp please. For sure saved me from a personal meltdown and sleeping in bush somewhere.
Favourite part about this campsite:"The showers are amazing after a long day of cycling!"

Superb for a relaxing stay. Very quiet with only 7 adult only pitches.
Keilder forest within easy walking distance and pub within walking distance.
Large fully serviced pitches with toilet shower and laundry facilities close by which really are the best I've ever used.
A place to relax and enjoy nature with excellent views.

Really nice small quiet site at the end of a 1000m forest track.
Dark skies, but unfortunately also cloudy and wet during our stay.
Friendly and helpful host.
Probably the best toilet/shower block we’ve come across.
Definitely be back.
Road access to east and west fine for our 7m Motorhome.

Dave and Jackie are the perfect hosts.
The site is in an Ideal place surrounded by forest and great views along the valley.
A friendly tavern is just down the lane.
Facilities are clean with modern fittings.
It's a long way from our home but we're hoping to come back.

Remote site in the heart of the forest.
New rough-sawn timber facilities block is lovely with hot rainfall showers.
Limited wi-fi and no phone signal but, if the weather is kind, great clear skies for star-spotters.
A great site for walkers, cyclists and outdoor lovers.

Wow. This is what everyone else has to live up to. Can't praise it highly enough. Firstly location, easy to find, spectacular views and lots and lots to see and do in area.
Peace and quiet was fantastic Secondly facilities, proper large, level segregated hardstanding pitches, electric and water within close reach of each pitch.
Toilet /showers /washing facilities, you really do need to experience them to see how good they are. Cracking showers, none of those having to keep pushing the button, these were amazing. Love one of them at home. Most unique facility block we've ever came across.
Thirdly, we will be back sometime, maybe come in winter when weather better. 😀Think this has just became our favourite site.
