 The site is easy enough to find and not far off the motorway network. On arrival, we felt we received a rather frosty welcome. We looked at the information given to us and noted that the ground is clay so there is information about not driving on the grass as you will not be towed out if you get stuck. It was a very hot weekend so not a problem for us but shouldn't this information be on the website on the "Before you Travel" information?
The site is a generic CAMC site. It's in a great location if you want to go to Cheshire Oaks, Chester Zoo, Chester City Centre, the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port, a few RSPB Reserves and the North Wales coast. If you want to go anywhere, you will need to use your car.
As it is near some major motorways, you will hear road noise but it does depend on wind direction. Obviously, this makes the site easy to reach but it might be an idea to take earplugs for sleeping. There is also some noise from planes taking off from Liverpool Airport but it was interesting to see all the different planes coming over and we didn't notice any noise from planes at night.
It is a short walk down the road to the pub, Rake Hall. However, the lane right outside the site is used as a rat run by local traffic so is a very fast road with no pavement. You would definitely need a torch to walk back.
The toilets and showers were constantly left in a mess by other people using them. They didn't seem to be being checked very often apart from the morning clean and in the evening.
It was disappointing to see so many dogs off leads, people playing ball games on the grass near to caravans even though there is a play area and an off lead dog walk as part of the site. You can now turn up and save a pitch for your friends if they are arriving the same day and, consequently, this resulted in large groups who were very noisy at times.
The bins are a long walk from many pitches and this seems to have stopped people recycling properly as it was clear that nobody had done that much recycling with loads of things thrown in general waste that could have been recycled.
CAMC sites are great sites for people who don't like any surprises. They have the same standard across all their sites but that standard is pulled right down when the people who use the sites ignore rules and when the Site Managers don't enforce them.
We had been sent a voucher so got one night free as, generally, we don't stay on Club sites as find them pretty expensive for two of us.

This site is very easily accessible from major routes for any size of outfit. We were met by the warden who was pleasant enough on arrival.
When returning to reception for barrier entry key card, the same lady warden was very insistent I owed her money thinking I was somebody else. Had she asked my name, the embarrassing conversation wouldn't have been necessary as I then also had to log in to my membership to prove I had paid in full when booking. She was most apologetic after the fact.
The time of year dictates the conditions of the pitches and access roads, plenty of muddy puddles to negotiate and wet slippy leaves. Pitches were less than pristine but level and well sized in the main.
We walked to Cheshire Oaks shopping village, approx. 20 mins. Yes, road was busy but didn't feel unsafe at all, used the green cross code and kept my wits about me.
The Stanley Oaks pub around the corner served us up a lovely lunch in a lovely establishment with fantastic staff. Lots of fireworks over the weekend and road noise is a constant hum in the background.
I will mention the bins / recycling. I'm not a fan of the new system. I do not have room to individually divide and store rubbish even though I do my best to minimise amounts nor do I have the inclination whilst trying to wind down and de-stress to traipse the length and breadth of a site with my food waste or empty wine bottle.
When the bins were with the many service points, it was very easy, it's not very hard now just not convenient or what I want to do on a weekend away

Usual CMC facilities all well kept. Some Pitches under trees. V popular site due to Shopping Centre 20 min walk away (along busy road some unpavemented).
A bit souless with the drone of motorways as a constant back drop.
Great for shopping addicts pure hell for the rest of us ! Bus into Chester from McDonalds on centre car park.
Chester a little disappointing seems to be suffering from drain of retail to out of town.

A very excellent run Campsite.
A place for everything and everything in its place.
All amenities were immaculate, Toilets and Showers were superb!
Pub with good food well within walking distance, perhaps a little dangerous if children are in the group.
Well worth a visit, we shall return

Been before. Site clean and tidy. When we went there had been a lot of rain some pitches holding water.
We managed to get a lovely pitch behind the toilet block.
Site peaceful. Wardens friendly.
Short walk to Cheshire Oaks.
Found the lovely Cheshire Farms Ice Cream drive in. You park by the lake qr code and ice cream delivered to your car very delicious ice cream. So much so brought home 3 large tubs of ice cream.

Lovely site, fantastically situated for a number of amenities in the Chester area!
Facilities were immaculate, as expected! Couldn't have asked for more!
Be aware of where you pitch as you may be subjected to falling acorns!

One night stopover on way back home to Glasgow. Neat and tidy site with first class modern toilet/shower facilities. 10/15 min walk to shopping outlet with numerous eating places.
We had dinner in Ego restaurant which is ten mins walk from site but has no pavement and got 20% discount as we were staying on the site. Food was delicious.
Friendly check in and will definitely return here to explore area but will try to get a pitch away from the bins/ recycling next time, not great if you wanted a lie in and someone is disposing of their empties at 8am!

Having visited this site many times it quickly became a favourite mostly due to its cleanliness and high standard of Maintenance.
We had not however been for a couple of years and when we visited in June this year we were dismayed to see that
A) the grass had not been cut particularly the area at the back.
B) the whole site looked incredibly scruffy
C) many of the pitches had weeds on them
D) a couple of motor homes were not parked
By the white peg thereby contravening fire regulations
E) the 5mph speed limit around the site was often not adhered to.
Certainly not what we expect from a Caravan & motorhome club site

We have visited this excellent site before but this is our first visit for a while.
We received a warm welcome from the lovely lady warden and were asked to choose a pitch. It was not busy so plenty on offer!
We had a nice large flat hardstanding at the top of the site overlooking fields behind.
There are plenty of water points and a large spotless warm facility block.
We visited Chesire Oaks as the wife wanted to buy some bits and bobs! Pricey day out. There are plenty of food outlets to take a break in.
You can get the bus to Chester or Liverpool from there, which we have done before having bus passes!
There are 3 pubs in walking distance but be careful on the lane and take a torch after dark.
Some noise from the nearby roads and few aircraft passing over.
Excellent for visiting lovely Chester Liverpool or Ellesmere Port.
TV and phone signals are good and there is CMC WiFi if you have paid! Our subscription had expired but 4G was fine!
Please note arrival time is 1pm now. We arrived later but they had a notice to that effect.
It busy at weekends so outfits could cause blockage on Rakes Lane. The wardens monitor it and get people to pull onto the site past the barrier if they can.
A good site with good access to nearby attractions.
